Well today has been an awful day........

Well today has been an awful day in many ways.......
To start with I could not see the mountains on my way to my Pop because of the dust in the air.........we were not as bad as down south but the wind blew all day............

Sadly my Pop died this morning which was a blessing - since late January he has been up and down like a yo-yo and from Tuesday he was seriously going down and down and down until this morning.......this is my last Grandparent........the end of a generation in my family....

So due to family commitments and visitors and this special visitor next week I will probably be off blogland until next weekend.........
behind in bloglines again..........thanks to the wonderful people who have commented in the last few days esp about the cards THANKYOU...........got some more in the mail this week so will show you when I return to normal posting.......
As as the wind blew and blew today this is what I came home to.......................OMG what a job this is going to be.............some will blow away but not a lot.........thank goodness it was nearly dark when I got home and dh had warned me and I think I would have kept driving..........

my back gate........find another way in..........4ft deep minimum here...........

does anyone want to come and help me get rid of this................god knows how I am going to do it.............

.............Take care till next time.............

Oh Donna, indeed a terrible day. My heartfelt sympathy to you on the loss of your Pop. I will be thinking of you over the next few days. And as for the umbrella grass - that is just unbelievable! We had this happen in our garden a few years back, but not 4ft deep! I really feel for you, your family and your beautiful garden. Love Bloom.

Oh my gosh Donna -- what IS it??? They don't look like the tumbleweeds I've seen -- they're too pretty! I know they're a huge pain, but they sure make for beautiful pictures. Can you burn them? Or is that too dangerous? Wow. And so sorry about your pop -- it's so very sad to see the end of an era. XOXO

I am so sorry to hear about your Pop but it sounds like that it was a blessing for him to be able to move on. It doesn't make things easier for you. HUGS!!!

Are those tumble weeds? That is the craziest thing I have ever seen. What will you have to do to get rid of them? or will the wind move them on again?

You will be in my thoughts and prayers. HUGS again!

so sorry to hear about your pop. it must be sad to say goodbye to the last grandparent. i think you are lucky though to have known them - i never knew mine and i am often rather envious of those who did. i think my kids are so lucky to have grandparents - they are so wise and have so much to teach us!
i would come and help with the grass, but i'm too far away - sorry!
i hope your pop has found peace now.

You sure do have a mess to clear away...to bad lighting a match would be a bad idea, LOL, would be tempted if it wouldn't burn everything else in sight! See you when you return to us. Kim

Dear Donna,
I am so sorry to hear of your sad new I will be thinking of you. I sending you this poem because it has great meaning for me.

Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.

I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glint on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.

When you wake in the morning hush,
I am the swift, uplifting rush
of quiet birds in circling flight.
I am the soft starlight at night.

Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there, I do not sleep.
Do not stand at my grave and cry.
I am not there, I did not die!
