Petticoat Government.........

The lack of sewing posts is due to busy-ness..............I was on such a good run and it all had to come to an end........lots of visitors to the farm.............some last weekend and heaps coming this weekend.............in NSW we have a long weekend for the Queen's birthday............my kids have a pupil free day Friday............so for us it is a 4 day weekend............so what's planned.......maybe a sausage sizzle in the paddock......some camp ovens, maybe a bonfire, rodeo, quilt show, motorbikes, yabbying..........are you tired yet................gosh I am just thinking about it let alone the food..........and you know I will have to cook a big batch of scones..................

lets see if it stops raining first..............we have had some more wonderful rain.....

.......tomorrow dh is under "petticoat government" aka cleaning the house with me (well it is too wet to do anything outside so I need to keep him busy somehow)

.........take care til next time.............
.......Chookyblue..........
PS back after the 8-12 visitors leave on Monday............

LOL!!! My DH was under 'petticoat government' yesterday as we're expecting visitors too and with it being so wet and nothing to do outside so he should... LOL!!!
Everything planned at your place sounds like loads of fun, have a great weekend with all your visitors...

Take Care
Jodie :)

Enjoy, enjoy your long weekend. Everything sounds like a great deal of fun, and housecleaning with a name like "petticoat government" has got to be lighthearted enough for a few laughs while you are scrubbing and dusting. Do your quests help out with chores on the farm? I know my family would be disappointed not to.

Boy the sausages look good. That is worth cleaning out a stall or two.

Oh, those snags look good on the barby! My hubby is planning on buying a good camp oven so we can do cook-ups down the back paddock.
Your having a crowd of people visit and I'm hoping not to see a soul! No netball this weekend means I don't have to leave the house! Yay!

Cheers - Joolz

I bet you are all having a wonderful time - love the idea of that 'petticoat government' - I don't wear too many skirts let alone petticoats, so therein lies the problem, I guess!

Some years ago, I explained to my children what the term "petticoat government" meant, when they had overheard it in conversation. Some time later, when I had asked them to do some chores, I heard my daughter say to her brothers, that's "pants parliament for you"!
My husband often landed the job as "chute boss" at many of the rodeos in the Kimberley., West Aust. Arriving home after a weekend away, one of the staff asked my daughter how it all went. "OK", she said, "Dad was the boss shooter"!!
I enjoy your blog.

I remember feeling very benevolent towards the Queen as she gave us a holiday every year when I grew up in Oz. It's not celebrated at all here in Britain.
I love your new cattle, they'd look great as a basis for a black and white quilt....
