Slow Cooker /crock pot recipes..........

So what's for dinner at your place..................
Sausages with tomato and onion gravy is on the menu at my place...........
I'll do some mash potato to have with it.......
I speeded this one up by giving the sausages a quick cook in the fry pan first and then into the crock pot..........
usually I am lazy and just like to throw everything in at the start and give it an occasional stir.......
Used one of the slow cooker packet recipes with it.............
Sometimes I do my own thing...............
what do you like to cook in a slow cooker/crock pot.............

.........take care til next time.....Chookyblue.........

Lately I've been perfecting what I like to call chuck it in soup. Start with meat of some description (on the bone), lentils, carrot, celery, onion, stock, and what ever vegetables are in the crisper. My son likes Pea and Ham Soup and I have told him my version is better for him than the canned variety and taste's better too so there have been a few versions of that cooked lately. Love corned beef done in the slow cooker too.

Mum has dropped off chicken soup, a casserole, apple crumble and trifle which will feed us here for a few nights...I just got out of hospital with my son from his operation Friday, so we have all been a bit spoilt with Mums cooking!
My son has requested curry pork pies (in the pie maker) so I will make some up later in the week!

PS Enjoy your tea...sounds yum!

We are having Beef Stroganoff. Put it on in the slow cooker this morning before I went to my quilting group. Came home and the smell in the house was wonderful. Just waiting for hubby to come home so we can eat.

I always do my Bolognaise Sauce in the slow cooker, not quite the chuck it all in method but close I brown the onions and mince first. And the ONLY way I can cook a roast is in the slow cooker. I am working my way through a list of soup and casserole recipes, and they ARE the throw everything in and walk away variety. Hope your cassserole is really yum..

Lurve, sausages and onion gravy. Can I come to dinner please? XX

We're having quick and easy. Pasta and pesto sauce with what ever I find stirred in, usually left over roast meat and a handful of peas and corn.

So many things for the slow cooker. I do such a simple dish with chicken and fanta and soy sauce. I found it when I googled recipes once. The kids love it!

Must get the slow cooker out again, love it that it cooks for you while you're at work. Tonight I wish I could just have baked beans like Peg, but I am heading off to the kitchen shortly to cook up a storm with chicken, albeit with a headache as well.

We're having savoury mince on toast - it is prepared, just a few last minutes additions and toast to make. I'm loving the Voice, so will sit and stitch while watching that, then off to bed for a lovely read on my Kindle. My goodness, what 'down-to-earth' girls we are, lol!

I have a slow cooker, but I have no clue what to cook in it. I use it for corned beef (best ever!), but struggle beyond that! There should be a slow cooker recipe blog called "The Lazy Quilter's Dinner". I need help!

My slow cooker is a great friend. Our favourites are chicken caccitore, pea and ham soup, and especially corned beef. I have never cooked a roast in the slow cooker, perhaps I should give it a try?

The slow cooker is a saviour on busy, cold winter days. Chuck it in with the packet mix and lots of extra vegies - never any complaints.

I still haven't ventured into slow cooking - just use the good old casserole dish. Your sausage hot pot sounds yummy.

sounds yummy! I don't use mine much, I find my casserole type thing are too runny! But the packet mixes are good.

The snags sound great a true Aussie dish. I had a slow cooker 40 years ago and the roast chicken was a sensation.

i love my slow cooker, and usually do a pretty good chicken caccatorie...(can never spell it but you all know what i mean)

but at the moment my favourite thing to eat is my Hubby's Hobo stew, cooked in the camp oven often on our gas stove, sometimes in a fire it's the best

Wow, you hit a note here. I either do a roast beef for French Dip sandwiches or Pork for Carnitas.

I love using the slow cooker. For me there is no better way to cook corned beef! A couple of years ago I bought a recipe book called Slow by Alluson Gofton and it has a lot of really useable, wonderful recipes - I refer to it a lot, especially now it's a bit cooler.

Enjoy your dinner.

Just three of us for tea tonight . .so it was a LAZY cooker here . .store bought Chicken Pie . . by the time the household shrinks to two of us (I dream) then I might get really SLOW and serve tinned food. I am so "over" cooking. . . although that fanta recipe sounds intriguing.

I love my crock and use it all the time. One of my favorites is Charro Beans that my friend taught me to make while living in TX.
1pound of pinto dry beans
1large onion roughly chopped
2 large fresh tomatoes seeded and chopped
1can rotel with green chile
1bunch fresh cilantro
1 pound bacon chopped and fried up but not cruchy
3 chicken breast cooked and shredded (roasted chicken or rotisserie)
3 cloves garlic or 1 large heaping
tablespoon of chopped garlic
cumin to taste
one small bottle liquid smoke
garlic salt to taste
salt/pepper to taste the last 20 min. of cooking (most of the time you do not need this, so don't put it in until the last of the cooking if you find that you need a little more)
1 1/2 tablespoons of pinto bean seasoning
Put all this into the crock and put on high and cook for four hours. Or on slow for six to eight hours. Serve with shredded cheese on top if you like over rice. So good. You can also use ham if you like for the meat. This makes a great meal or side dish. Sometimes I use a 2 pound bag of beans so we can have leftovers. You can also use the leftover beans to make your own refried beans, just add cheese and mash up. Enjoy, now off to put a crock of these on.
