Antique Tumblers...........

This is a quilt I made at my retreat at Cottage on the Hill in Nundle last year (just about to go again)
It was to be for me but it wasn't finished..........since being inspired to sew again I decided to attach the remainder of the binding so i could sew it down..............
But recently I found out a friend is seriously ill and suddenly I was heading off to see her............
Knowing she needed a quilt but no time to make one I decided to get this one finished for her............
she was stoked and so excited to know I had made it myself..........
With a sleep over on the way at Cardygirl's we all know how much she LOVES binding............she must be a good friend cause she helped me get the binding finished...........
then organise the photo shoot..............and in the neat tidy perfect sewing room she was able to find a quilt label................Thanks Cardy
Fabric - Antique Fair by Black Bird Designs
Tumbler Pattern ???
On the way to Cardy's I got stuck behind this triple escort wide load............the only way around is when they stopped which thankfully wasn't too far up the road but on the way home I got stuck behind another one and got stuck there for about 15-20 mins.............You know your in mining country when you have stuff like this on the roads............
and sunset as I was arriving at Cardy's...............
a view on the way home..............gorgeous.............
It's so exciting to have a finish...............
Catch you later..............

Oh I love that quilt in those fabrics. Ann-Marie bought Kerries last kit at GDITC - I was too slow. Even when you love something for yourself, it's the best feeling to give it away. I'm sure it will really help your friend. We get too many wide loads on our little roads too.

Love your quilt, Chooky - it's so effective. I trimmed mine straight to make it easier to bind, but it was for a boy - love it like yours, but I bet it was a headache binding it.

Love your Tumbler quilt, gorgeous fabrics.
We have lots of trucks like that trundling past the door, 'speshly tricky when you just wanted to whizz into town for 2 minutes and the convoy makes it take 30 minutes!

I love the tumbler quilt and I really love the edges as they are and not straightened. Beautiful views. Being a city chic I cannot imagine one of those things on the road.

I love the finished tumbler quilt...I like the shaped edge.....glad you got to catch up with friends along the way....we made ourselves a little unpopular when our house (100 year old one) came in 3 pieces on the back of trucks over 2 days and blocked the whole highway for some time!!!! ...this was about 6 years ago.....they looked just like the truck in front of you in the photo with the load hanging over both sides.....see you soon.....
