fires.............

OMG what a day has unfolded in the Blue Mountains, Southern Highlands and Hunter areas.....there may be more I am unaware of...........
No fires near me thankfully but thinking of all the people in the areas affected..............homes/businesses are lost numbers unknown at this stage............everything is still to out of control to assess what has gone......not sure if any lives have been lost but the emergencies in numerous areas are far from over with new areas being affected......they winds have been horrendous again today over most of the state........this has fanned all the fires that have started...............
.........take care til next time.....Chookyblue.........

Been praying for you Chooky...was unsure where the massive blanket of smoke was coming from, until the TV news. Just tragic.

Was thinking of you when I saw the news tonight. Glad you are in the clear, but so terrible for those who are not. We have had a cold, wet, windy day down here, hard to believe we live in the same country.

Been watching it on the news, we have had the opposite weather hail and rain squalls with big winds, hard to believe its the same country.

Thinking of everyone in that gorgeous area. We were there in July and such a beautiful area - so sad to think of the devastation happening at the moment. Fingers crossed everyone safe

Good grief! I've been checking out the fire map on ABC TV site.. it's unbelievable how many fires there are! Isn't it too early for fires like this? My heart goes out to those who've lost their homes or businesses and I'm hoping no one looses their life!

Just so utterly devastating. I worked in insurance for many years and I know it is only a home but is so awful to try and replace everything. Thankfully, unlike feb 09 in Victoria no loss of life. Fingers crossed for rain and safety for all concerned

It is just horrendous for all those affected. I cannot believe the season has started so early and with such ferocity. Those firefighters are real fair dinkum heroes.
