reporting in...............

What a nice time with crafty friends............love it.............
I only decided to go the day before I left........bit spontaneous
Fairy Girl and I headed off...........the roads sure changed along the way............
But lots of long straight stretches as far as the eye can see and then some.......
We got to visit a few patch work shops along the way........
Cobar Quilt Shop sure is work a visit...............OMG I wished it was closer........
so many lovely fabrics.............just about every bit you could need...........
heaps of patterns...........lots of kits around too.........
I was well looked after...........
A lovely light sewing area up the back for classes.............
lots of fabrics, styles, etc.............plenty of choice..............
I decided to see what I could find as possibles for the new SAL............I need backgrounds no matter which colour way I went...........blues or brights...........
well brights it is...........
still yet to put them with what I have but I like the choices so far....
My pattern arrived today so will have to check it all out together.....
Fell in love with this quilt which they can kit up......
This is made in Lynette Anderson fabrics.......
Nearly the whole time I was visiting my friends it was raining.......just about unheard of in that part of the world..........It started raining 50kms from my destination and only stopped about 40kms out on my way home...............the whole time I was there it was showering or misting............OMG heaven.......about 60mls of rain...........needed so badly there too...........nothing at home unfortunately........most of the time we sat on Suze's back verendah and watched the rain fall and stitched........
Worked on Suzes SKofW SAL..........
Blocks all trimmed and 3 rows joined...........
healthy morning tea.........fruit and yogurt
(plum and cinnamon cake and fig and ginger cake)
Got my first Lucy Boston block finished.........I see Shiralee Stitches newsletter in my inbox and the 3rd one is out........must get 2 finished now.........it is cut just not glued yet...........
Not to late to start this one either............
a delicious lunch.........it did look a bit better but we forgot to take a pic before we started...........
Me and Kaz in the front...........
great selfie Kate....no selfie stick needed here........
then onto Kylies............one of the kids christmas quilts was put on my bed...........
to warm to use it though........but lovely and bright......
stopped by a mine...........very interesting to see it working.............
managed to fit some walking in in between showers.............
forgot to take some pics of the gorgeous knitting that Kylie does............OMG..........it's to die for..............she is extremely talented..........Kaz was knitting too and Lois was crocheting........
Fairy Girl is dreaming about some fancy draws..............bit expensive but maybe we can make one for ourselves..........thinking Sonia may be able to help me work out how to do the paper thing on the fronts........she's pretty crafty talented........
Catch you later

What a great shop you've found there. I'm sure you were in seventh heaven ;)! And I like your healthy morning tea. Must remember that. Hope the rain will come to you too very soon.

Good to hear that the rain has at got to at least some places out west. That shop you found looks like a gold mine. Not exactly a place I normally swing by though LOL

Aren't spontaneous trips the best. I can't believe how productive you all were, in among the chatting, shopping, eating and watching the rain. It sounds fantastic. I'm sure there will be some cute drawers in the near future, but with a Fairy Girl touch.

Wow - a great trip Chooky - Cobar is a little further than 3 hrs from here!! You chose the right weekend Togo - all that lovely rain - cannot believe you didn't get any rain - our trip was wet both ways - fingers crossed you get the next lot and it is soon. The Cobar fabric shop might be the final impetus for me to go to Cobar - in the cooler months of course!!

What a fun trip. Can't believe your not getting some of that rain, after what we have been seeing on TV.
That shop looks amazing, I sure could do some plastic damage there.

You sure crammed a lot in...love the drawers...you can do it!!... I've been lucky enough to go down a mine at Mt Isa and also into a tunnel that was being built as part of an Electricity Power station... Found them both very interesting

Looks like a fun weekend. Shame the rain didn't stretch to your place, or hitch a ride home with you.
Those drawers are pretty and fairly easy to make too, the hardest part is deciding which paper to use.

What a fun weekend. Didn't know Cobar had such a great shop. Good to know. We do head West sometimes. I love that Lucy Boston quilt and have checked out the tutorial. Will pop over to Shiralee Stutches and see what is happening there.

What a lovely get-together, Chooky, and what fun all you crafty girls had. I'm looking forward to seeing you all in March. Hope there was some rain after you got home - Pete bought a rain gage (boy's toy) a few days ago and we 've had 35ml so far - lucky us.
