Thinking of snow......

I wasn't coming back tonight but OMG we got a hail storm this evening..............35mls of rain in 10mins and it hailed the whole time...............
I don't ever remember seeing hail like this...........ever..........
this must be what it looks like when it starts to snow..........white everywhere..........
probably get frostbite on my toes.............I was walking around in the freezing water taking pics............there was water running everywhere............
this was while I was still in the car...............it was so noisy...........
rivers of water running everywhere.............

there is still hail on the lawn hours later...........usually if it hails it is all melted by the time the rain finished.............it's been sprinkling most of the evening...........
now trying to wash and dry wet towels and carpet where we had some leaks.............
bugger........

OMG hope your car was not in it? Probably the only time it will ever look like snow at your place ...

Holy cow! It does look like the first snow...if it's a gentle event. This looks like the kind of thing that would bring us a tornado.

That's a bunch of hail...It sort of does look like snow! :0)

Most of the time snow is light and fluffy, but it does look like that on the grass, especially with wet snow...now imagine that up to the middle of your thigh! :) Glad you are okay, and hopefully the precipitation will be a good thing for you. No one likes hail!

Yikes you really did cop it! Nice to get rain, not so nice to get hail damage, hope the car and everything else was OK? I wonder if the nesting fowl abandoned her eggs in the downpour?

Oh dear, that is really bad weather !

You certainly get extremes of weather where you are. Mind you we have had shocking weather in Sydney too a few weeks ago and hailed like that in a few places. Hopefully the hail will all melt and help fill the dams.

Looks wonderful...as long as you didn't get too much damage.
Hope you got some in the dams..

The hail looks great in the photos Chooky...hope it is all headed to the dams for you...hope too no car damage and not too much water inside! Boy you guys seem to get one extreme to the other up there!!

That was certainly a doozie of a storm! And for the hailstones to take so long to melt is amazing. Hope there wasn't too much damage caused by the hail?

From one extreme to the other. Never a dull moment with you Chooky.

Wow the pics look great, I hope the leaks did not cause too much damage. All that ice will melt into water that will in turn soak into your soil so win win for you I'd say. We had a storm like that in Cobar in summer once so I know what you mean.....so out of character. I think the rest of us were covered in fog yesterday. Quite widespread as far as I know. Take care....Hugs Kate x

Gosh, it must have been cold out your way. Was cold here but not enough to throw ice at us. LOL

Wow! You did cop it....but it looks amazing. At least it was small in size, if not in quantity. Here's hoping you get those leaks sorted out.
