I say go with the green! It looks great! :0)
I like the double border I think it will look great.
Hugs - Fee X
I like the green one :-)
I think the thin blue one frames it beautifully and then the cream/green thicker border looks great.
Well you wanted honesty so I'll give my 2c worth.
When I saw the first pick I thought PERFECT. Love the green, it really frames it. The brown NO, didn't like and then the Blue nice too but I keep going back to the green so GREEN is my pick. PHEW! Honest enough? Love the BIG border fabric. Just lovely, now hurry up and get it finished already.
I like the bleu one
I like the double border. The blue is perfect and then the larger green border pulls out the green from inside the quilt making it more noticable. This is going to be a terrific quilt. Hope
I like the blue as your stitcheries are blue aren't they? Not sure on the outer border fabric, think I would need to see it on a bigger pic.
Goodluck
I like the green, and also the double. Sorry, not much help. It will look great with any of those except the brown, not enough zing with it.
I'm with Leanne... love the blue frame with the cream green border ...
Good luck with the choice
Hugz
Blue does it for me. Cherrie
Personally I think the green thin border is pretty but it blends in too much. I agree with you ... the blue really frames it nicely and I think it also brings out the blues in the quilt.
Blue's my choice.
Good luck!!
Hugs,
Joy :o)
What Joy said (she beat me to it)...and the blue highlights the bluework stitching...
I LIKE the blue then double liked the double with blue and green...
BLue is a good border - then with the green ties all the colours in the quilt together.
not brown...
Sleep on it and do what your gut feeling is : o )
I like all three colours for the borde, I like the double border too! LOL No help at all huh?
I like the green most.
I really like the double border. I know it is more work, but I think it will totally be worth it in the end.
Yep I like two borders. Thin blue and then the green.
I like the blue border and the double border equally. The green one disappears into the main quilt and the brown doesn't do anything for me.
Blue.
The blue border frames it perfectly.
Definitely the double - blue then green. Very cool!
I'm on team Green!!
I will have to go with green.
I like the dark blue border, it finishes the quilt nicely and works well with the other blues in your quilt.
I think you cream/green border looks a bit light in value and prefer the darker green if you had enough.
But this is your quilt and you are the one to make the final decision
From what I can see in the picture, it looks like the problem isn't the color but the contrast. The blue reads dark and therefore shows up clearly and "frames" the quilt. The others read blah because they're too close to all the other colors. Why not look into your stash and reach for a green or brown with darker value and give them a try? Sweet quilt!!
Blue or green. The blue one make bright out the blue stitchery, that is the wonder of your quilt!
Blue. And bind it in the green.
I like the double border. The dark of the blue really creates a good frame and the green ties it all together.
Well sweet, as you overall theme is blue I would be very inclind to have the thin blue line - it's just perfect as a 'full stop' to your blue stitching.
hugs Miche'le
Green.
I Like the double border;)
I like the blue one best, maybe together with the green, because it picks up the colour from the stitcheries and is the one that, how can I explain it in English, has "it" and catches your eyes and makes a real frame. Hope you understand.....beautiful quilt, anyway.
The thin blue one appeals to me the most!
Well Chooky - so many different choices and opinions - ultimately it's yours to choose! Having said that .... I like the blue which frames it perfectly! Good luck with your choice - it will be interesting to see what you do! And congratulations on finishing off!
Okay, you asked and you got lots of answers....I like the blue because it brings out the stitching but I don't like it with the outer green and cream....of course it may not look, in person, as it does to me on here....If you had enough of the green which was a choice for the inner border, I think it would look great for an outer border with the blue.
Mama Bear
I vote with Leanne. That thin blue border is wonderful and then the thick border.
I like BLUE cant wait to see which one you pick.
Hugs Mary.
I really like the double border!
Lisa
First I thought the blue border was the best choice, but I do like the double one too. I kind of feel that the contrast between the inner and outer border is a little softer with the blue/green thin border.
Pick what pleases your eye the most! Good luck! :-)
Nice one.....now what are you going to do LOLOL....anyway I will throw in my 2cents worth...I like the blue one. I agonised over the thin border on mine...I picked one and then didn't like it ...so had to try a few others.....happy decision making!
If it were my quilt I'd go with green.
I like the blue border because out of the three choices you show, it seems to be just that bit darker to not compete or blend in. I think it frames the blocks quite nicely.
I personally like the blue - but judging by the comments, they would all look nice.
if it was mine i put the double border
I like the dark blue with the cream and green border. The dark blue pulls the eye out to edge and compliments the stitching.
I think the blue is the best - it is a nice strong colour and frames the quilt really well.
I think the green blends into the outer border fabric and the brown is alittle 'lost'.
In the flesh it can look very different though and your eye needs to love it!
Good luck - looking forward to seeing the finished article!
Well Miss Chooky, I guess I can add my little bit to other comments, have had a good look and I think as much as the blue frames the main quilt well I don't think it goes with the large border fabric so in saying that I would go with the thin dark green and the green/cream border.
Always remember though that its your quilt and you are the one always looking at it so go with your gut feelings and I'm sure it will look great. Remember its really doesn't matter what we all think.
Helen
I normally would vote for green anytime, but I honestly think the blue brings out the blue in the stitcheries more than the others.
I LOVE the blue border....
pick the blue :)
Chooky I like the blue thin border and then the large green...the blue frames the quilt and gives it a nice inside finish....but you have to like it...so go with the gut feeling..
If I may throw the cat among the pigeons so to speak ... my first thought was what about a little dark brown/chocolate thin border ... something the colour of the binding in the bottom left corner of your top photo. You also have a piece of check fabric in your quilt which appears to have dark brown or burgundy flowers ... they caught my eye when you asked about border colours.
But then I'm always the one in our group who goes with the odd choice ... ultimately it has to be what your happiest with. :o)
You won't go wrong with any of them Chooky...but to me green really stands out...I had a look at your quilt and it looks to me like the main colour...Dzintra♥x
I like the green, but I am a matchy match kind of girl. So there is always the blue/green combo if you feel like sewing until midnight again! Happy quilting Sue SA.
Well, lots of comments already but I"ll throw my two cents in anyway. A narrow framing border needs a strong contrast in my opinion. I would use the dark blue or even a burgundy. Don't want everything too matchy-matchy, but don't want it too far out there either. I also know in the end any of them will work ok. What about a pieced border? Your stitcheries look great!
oh it so looking like the jury is supporting green, it does show off the stitchery well, but I am a blue girl...so that's my pick, I'm with Leanne
I like the green the otheres seem to draw your eye away from the quilt too me" Very nice job by the way!
Looking forward to seeing what you decided on!
