Churn Dash SAL?????

Edit SAL closed

Are you up for a Sew-a-long????
After discussions on zoom on the weekend I have been churning a few more thoughts.......
I'm sure there could be 5 of us Jeanette, Lou, Maria and Ellen joining me......Lou is definitely in.... I'm going to do a Churn Dash Sew-a-long....... Gosh hope I didn't miss someone.....
The one we are starting from will be 32 blocks....(9in blocks)
So 8 blocks each month is the guide for 4 months and then the 5th month put it together?????
That's my thoughts so far.......
If you want to make it bigger just make a few more blocks each month....... No pressure at all......
So interesting in joining in????
Keep the love of blogging alive......
Catch you later.......
Chookyblue.....

Have a great time sewing, I am resisting at the moment, my sewing machines are packed away for two weeks along with everything else. Good enough reason??

Oh, I was NOT going to do any big new starts this year--just focus on UFOs. But I LOVE churn dash and I have never done a bed quilt out of these blocks--just minis and baby quilts. I am in!?! Can't believe I am caving. I was going to be so strong. But I really want a big churn dash quilt. Thanks, Chooky--I think?

Thinking . . . thinking . . . thinking, I really so shouldn't, I have so much to do this summer. Summer is always so much more busy than the rest of the year. I'll keep on thinking about this, when is the official start, June 1st?

Maria said...

Yes I’m in and have ordered background , sashing and ass civil war fabrics yesterday.
Hope they don’t take long to arrive….

Boy if this were a winter project - winter for me - but summer is slammin' busy.I LOVE the idea.

Count me in, sort of…. It will be perfect for the new stash……but as we will be away for a while, I may get a bit behind. When do you plan to start and will you be forwarding the pattern?

I will watch for now - so tempting to be in a SAL - esp a Chooky SAL

By the way - your quilter Jackson is at Craft Alive next week! looking forward to seeing his stuff.

After your post of this quilt last week, I was so inspired I bolted to my sewing room and made two blocks, so I guess this means I'm in. This will be my first SAL. I'm so excited to be part of this. Thank you for hosting, Chooky.

I am considering it. I will have a look to see if I have suitable GO dies in my collection to cut pieces quickly. Goodness knows, I have enough stash fabric to make a few dozen.

ellen said...

I know I should NOT but I am in! Today I received kilos of fabric coupons and they need to be used, so mine will be scappy. Could we maybe start the middle of June - the next weeks for me are totally busy and chaotic ...

loulee said...

LOL Yes, I'm in. My fabrics should be delivered today. Looks like you have one or two more takers too.

Do I have to be a current legitimate Blogger to join in? I've been trying to think of something to do with some shirts, and this could be the perfect answer to motivate me!

Not this time I am up to my nose in other sewing, knitting, quilting, and planting projects.

God bless.

Yes! I'm definitely in! I won't be able to count the blocks I'm working on at the moment because I want to get them finished. But I'm super happy to work on some more along with everyone else.
Thank you for organising this!

Yes, I'm in for the sew along! My quilt flimsy probably won't be finished in 5 months but hopefully by the end of this year.

Funny how so many people said "No I shouldn't" and then caved in - like me - like Helen - blame her!

I will spread the news on my blog. Is it OK I use the photo of your quilt? Hope some Dutchies will join.

I think I'd like to participate, Chooky, but I have some questions before committing. Aside from making 32 churn dash blocks, are there any other expectations, as in, style of fabric, color range, size, etc.? Thanks!

looking forward to joining in and making these blocks
