cold wet dreary day...............

I know many of you girls I visit in blogland get plenty of days like this and lots colder and wetter but in my part of Australia we get very few days that are lucky to make it to 13deg cel maximum............with the breeze it is a few degrees cooler..............not a lot of rain just fine misty stuff all day................guess it is preparing us for winter which starts tomorrow............a perfect day to stay in doors with the fire burning keeping us  warm...............

Can anyone tell me how the goodness this show works........lol......

there isn't much to watch on TV so I am watching Eurovision............saw a little last night............

I have no idea how it all works and it is always a bit odd...............guess it would help to be European..........lol........

But what was it with those glitter hot pants on the first boy group - Lithuania???? 

Another lady would win it on her cleavage.........my favourite so far is Denmark...........loved the song the couple sang............

But our Aussie host is just back stage chatting to some of the contestants and it is so funny.........

sheep and weekends shouldn't go together......

toooo many weekends lately we have been doing sheep stuff..........just couldn't do it any other way........this was a photo i snapped this morning - crisp, bright and early............my poor body was aching this afternoon.............even managed to tackle a sheep that jumped out of the race here...........thank goodness there weren't any videos around as it would have suited funniest home videos..........lol.........and wasn't terrible elegant............ I would have taken more photos I just didn't have time to stop and take them.......

if anyone so much as mentions the word "sheep" next weekend look out...........

the garden sculptures continue to change constantly..............so much of my garden is buried under "umbrella grass"............

a chooky blog has to have some chooks occasionally - here are my new girls and boy..............this is my handsome black "ancona" rooster

hopefully I will be able to breed him with these 2 gorgeous girls..........black ancona hens......aren't they just the prettiest girls......so fancy.........the photos were while they were still in the cage I brought them home in as today they were a little shy and hiding under the trees...............

and while I was there getting the other chookies I just had to get a couple of these red ancona hens too...........

I survived..........

Kerri has been and gone and she's not a very good whip cracker...........lol............I have very good delaying tactics she tells me............we changed her blog to a new template, looked at some mags and books, talked lots and enjoyed a bottle of wine but sewing we didn't get tooooo........she helped me work out a quilt I was stuck on.............so maybe if I get time off from sheep work this weekend I can cut the sashing..........travel safe and I hope you stay longer next time......

our local show has come to an end.....part of why I have been busy lately...........I helped steward the sewing section this year...........I really enjoyed it........hopefully we can get a few more entries in more sections next year..........

.....I got the binding finished on this quilt in time to enter..........no prizes but I will try and take some pics over the next few days to show you it better......

remember this one I did last year............. 2nd in the flannel quilt section.............

and I am very excited as I managed to win the Champion in the "local" photography section.........a few other first and seconds...........lots of fun.............kids had some entires and a few wins in different sections...........

Luckily the weather has been wonderful for the show this year...............last year was a terrible wash out and the usual saying in town in bring on the show as it is bound to rain..........it was so nice to wander around with lovely weather............and I also brought some chooks while at the show.............(like you do)............can't wait to pick them up and will show you some photos..........they are beautiful...........

in the land of Chookyblue we are mustering a mob of sheep, tagging some, loading wool then loading some sheep for sale too.........a busy day but atleast we are all together so that is what counts.......

...life is crazy and a little out of control here.............

.........hopefully we will have some visitors at the end of the week...........the umbrella grass has gone mad here and it is blown in a lot more - everywhere around the house............maybe it will hide the house and she won't be able to find me......lol..........she might have payback from my visit to her earlier in the year..........woops.........who would have thought we would have been able to catch up again so soon..........better go hide the UFO's...........

new books..........

Today I found this lovely new cookboook..........I have always loved and supported country shows............

The back of the books sums it up perfectly............can't wait to try some of the recipes...........

Sarah is to blame for the books I ordered below............I ordered them a few weeks ago and they arrived in the mail today......

Sunset this arfternoon............gorgeous colours............hope it is this pretty in your part of the world...........I am truly lucky to see sunsets like this fairly often...........no suburbia to block my views..........

new garden sculptures..............

What do you think of my new garden sculptures.............absolutely free and they change shape with the wind well any slight breeze really ...........if you have followed my blog for a few years you would have seen some photos of this stuff before..........after a fantastic summer of rain yet again and lots of grasses growing this is the downside..............BIG downside.............

AND this is just the start of it..............makes me want to move house............can I swap with someone in town...........

Just trying to work out a modification for the front of my ride on mower to push more under................it does a pretty good job out on the lawn but this stuff gets everywhere..............even up your trouser leg if your not careful..........
