About all I have time for is pics of the chooks and sunsets..... So since all fun stuff in my life keeps getting cancelled I need to escape to another world.....
So this Saturday I'm going to do another zoom marathon. Birmingham quilt show should have been on this week and there was a good chance I was going to end a holiday there.
So lets just pretend I'm jetting opps I mean zooming around the world this weekend.
So who's free....
Who's locked down.....
Got nothing better to do in life.....
Want to hang out with a bunch of quilty friends?
Join me on Sat 1st Aug my time. I'll probably start at 6am AEST. So work that out for your part of the world.  Friday afternoon/evening for some of you in Canada /USA.
It was heaps of fun last time so leave me a message and let me know if you want to join in so I can send you an invite.
Don't be precious and needy this is an open invite.

flat bread the screen shot version

flat bread.....

Its a nice rainy cloudy day.......we've had about 28mm of rain here mostly over night. Soft and gentle all soaking in........my neighbour rang me to check the directions for the flat bread and I just had to make some too...........and I remembered to take some pics to share with all of you..........
Combine 3/4 cup/ 185ml of milk and 50g butter in a saucepan just until the butter has melted.....don't over heat it.....add 1/2 teaspoon salt........add 2 cups/300g plain flour (all purpose flour)........combine together and turn out onto a floured surface.......knead gently and then you can wrap in plastic and leave it for 30 mins then back onto the floured surface and cut into 4 equal parts. I have not noticed the difference of leaving it or just going straight into cooking the bread.........
this is one ready to roll out...........
My Nan's old rolling pin.........
place into a nonstick pan with a little oil...3/4 heat...watch it start to cook........sometimes small bubbles......
Some times big bubbles.....
this one is now ready to turn....you will see the flat bread has changed a bit..........it only takes a few minutes.....you can use them for wraps........you can keep some uncooked in the fridge for a few days roll out and use baking paper or plastic wrap between each bread.......
cooked ones I kepted in the fridge and ate the next day...few seconds in the microwave and it was great..........none have made it to the freezer but they freeze well I am told.....
so variations
add a dash of minced garlic......that was so delicious.......wish I had remembered that today.......
dairy free use oil and almond milk.......
Gluten free use gluten free flour......

Let me know how you go.........
Catch you later........
