Scrub Stitchin' 2026 - Special Theme Dinner......

This year the special theme dinner was 
"Your favourite book character" 
(or one you could find a way to dress as) 

I always like to make the table special...............

This year we didn't have many decorations hung up.......we had some bookcase quilts hanging up and we got some posters from a book shop promoting some books............

Di came up with the table runner idea............

we ripped some pages out of books and magazines and popped them down the centre of the table.............pretty effective........

It did cause some trouble the next day when Sue started reading one of the books at breakfast..........

then it was asking down the table who had the next page number..............lol

Di also found some book vases at a cheap shop............

As usual some do it so well and others like me do something simple..........

I was struggling to decide what to do and I found this green dress in the cupboard so thought of Audrey of the Outback immediately...........I borrowed the hair from Miranda...........

During dinner we also do our swap "Make It, Bake It or Fake It" and I received this cute little pin cushion and pins from Phyllis which is very handy as Fairy Girl took too many of mine........

It really rained...........

 OMG girls it rained.........

Last week we had a bit of rain but this week we have had amazing rain 95mm......

Unless you have seen it bare and then rain you will never truly understand the wonder of nature............

it is amazing how fast the green pops out........

It's just so vibrant......we will be feeding for a bit yet but OMG it is so good to see the dams all full.........and lets hope we can stop feeding soon.......

For a 12 months time frame we are still well below average but at least it's rained..........

And it's still cloudy and the cooler weather seems to be hanging around now......

so good.......

Chookshed birthday party time........

This weekend is the Chookshed's birthday and as the girls had to cancel due to life commitments and thank goodness now as it rained and I don't have to worry about people driving in wet roads......

The rain is amazing..... This week we have had 95mms. Filled all my dreams etc. I'll do a post soon regarding that....... Such a wonderful sight......

So everyone's invited to join me sewing tomorrow....... The Chookshed's turning 14 this year.......

I'll be up early my time. No idea how long I'll go. I might need to help Mr Chooky feed or watch him get bogged......hmmmm......

Put the slow cooker on...... Sort out some drinks and snacks so we can chat and sew......

Scrub Stitchin' 2026 - Day 3 so much happened............

Friday everyone was here so it was a big day..............

we did the group photo, show and tell, blog photo and the theme dinner...............

The special theme dinner will get a post of it's own..........

I always like to get in before the other girls in the morning..........

give the room a little reset.........

sweep, open the blinds and windows, get the urn on etc...........

Some of the breaky crew............me, Peta and Kylie........... Peta and Kylie cooked great eggs.....

As Friday was scone day and mum didn't have any GF flour I made the special scones for the GF girls...........they turned out pretty well..........

This year we froze the left overs straight away and they defrosted them the next day.........

they kept much better.........

I rounded up a niece to assist in the kitchen..........great idea.........was fun to hang out with her a bit too...........

When we took the group photo earlier in the day we forgot to take the blog group so we did that after show and tell.............

we had a hectic schedule to fit in as we also has a lady doing massages for a few days...........

she's great and lots of the girls took up the option..........

This is the second year we have been able to add this as an option........... It's something I thought about for a few years but finally found someone.......
