Scrub Stitchin' 2026 - Day 3 so much happened............

Friday everyone was here so it was a big day..............

we did the group photo, show and tell, blog photo and the theme dinner...............

The special theme dinner will get a post of it's own..........

I always like to get in before the other girls in the morning..........

give the room a little reset.........

sweep, open the blinds and windows, get the urn on etc...........

Some of the breaky crew............me, Peta and Kylie........... Peta and Kylie cooked great eggs.....

As Friday was scone day and mum didn't have any GF flour I made the special scones for the GF girls...........they turned out pretty well..........

This year we froze the left overs straight away and they defrosted them the next day.........

they kept much better.........

I rounded up a niece to assist in the kitchen..........great idea.........was fun to hang out with her a bit too...........

When we took the group photo earlier in the day we forgot to take the blog group so we did that after show and tell.............

we had a hectic schedule to fit in as we also has a lady doing massages for a few days...........

she's great and lots of the girls took up the option..........

This is the second year we have been able to add this as an option........... It's something I thought about for a few years but finally found someone.......

I really didn't take as many photos as previous years...........I was busy and just forgot.............

Scrub Stitchin' 2026 - setup and day 1........

Finally I am getting to blog about Scrub Stitchin' 2026........ 

yep it was back in mid April but lets not dwell on that fact...........

This year I took a pile of stuff over on the weekend before as I had to much for one load and Miss Jules came for a run over and gave me a hand..........

We enjoyed lunch at the pub after we got the tables and chairs all set up.........

The skeleton ready to "make pretty"...........

the bare room is a pretty good canvas to work with as far as hanging quilts up..........

I do love to get some pics of the room before everyone brings all their stuff in..........

I went with a mix of colours this year that compliments the kits...........

I'll share the bag later........

The windows let some beautiful light in...........

and yes I was tempted once again..........woops....

The scrubbers of 2026.....

The coolest crew...... We had a wonderful time once again...... Blessed to have such a wonderful tribe.....

yesterday.......

Some days are easy, some days hard on the farm but today was a hard one......

Lowering numbers because of drought is always crap..... 

In my head when other loads go it's because they are fat and ready for sale, they are the old ones to cull, they don't suit our line, the dry cows after pregnancy testing......

But when they go because you have to scale down it's hard. Today we trucked our weaner heifers and some cows.......

Thankfully the prices are still holding up but it will be interesting to see how they go in the sale......

Lots of stock being off loaded at present....... The sales have been big.....

Feed is a major issue...... We have hay arriving today but the fuel to get it here 😱......

It's a dangerous situation...... Limited feed, limited fuel.....

A truck load of hay arrived early this morning......

The hay gets mixed with grain for the cows.....

How long will all this go on for who knows.....

There's no rain forecast, they talk of El Nino coming but I feel like it's already been here for some time....

This baby dropped last night.........

We have cleaned out some dams. It's been way too long since we had run off from rain.

Drought is always a challenge. 

We've done it before and we'll do it again. I'll survive but it does leave some invisible scares. 

If you're in drought hang in there!!

Maintain your social connections they are crucial....

It will end it always does and we will get thru it once more....

The week that was and Scrub Stitchin' prep........

Wow the last week has been hectic but today it's all about Scrub Stitchin'...... I'm on holidays from work now and I'm so excited.......

Surprise visitors over Easter for lunch then they stayed the night...... Was so good to see my friend......

We enjoyed a drink on sunset from the dam bank and watched the stars appear, then the moon rise......

Its times like this I LOVE where I live.

Helping pick up lots of wire around the farm from old fences that have been redone over the years..... Got a load going in a truck this morning......

Clouds but no rain........still a beautiful contrast though.........

Big busy week at work with lots of meetings....... And travel......

Finally the last hot summers day yesterday......36 deg..... A stunning sunset to finish...........

A nice cool change has come thru over night and omg it's so beautiful this morning......

Ok have heaps to do to get ready for Scrub Stitchin' but so excited about everything......

Need to round up all my regular gear..........the bits I have brought over the last few months.......

Some extra machines........what i'm going to sew........
