just a tad excited...........

we've had our local show...........from a young child I have always liked to enter art, craft, flowers into the show.............this year I  put some sewing and photography in................it's great to support the local shows (agriculture shows).............nothing else like them in country towns...............

I got quite a few 1st and 2nd's in various areas..........

anyway look what I got......................

on my Gardener's Journal..............I am so excited.....................

and if that wasn't enough you get points for places and champions etc and they do a tally for the whole pavillion and guess who won the Champion Exhibitor..................ta da.......

and not to be out done.............Fairy Girl had some sewing, a necklaces, photos and cooking in and she won the Junior Champion Exhibitor in the pavillion too.............

I have 3 finishes to show you that i put in the show but you will have to wait until next week for that............have to get some pics..............busy busy....

......May was the 3rd quietest month I have had in my whole time blogging........

Friday morning i'm off on retreat and Fairy Girl gets to come too for some of the time we are both very excited and she is already planning an entry for next years show........which she is going to work on at the retreat..............

I have nothing organised for retreat yet.....few ideas floating around.........

....off to put new elastic on netball bibs..........is 7.30pm to early to go to bed????

better do the bibs then I will hop into bed........

Yep well I do feel like a mother hen.....I have been fussing and making sure all the SSCS bloggers have there parcels wrapped sitting under their trees (bar a few)......I have nearly all the names on my lists crossed off.........yippee

Now back to the shopping..........

Only about a week late showing you all this but this trip to the "big smoke" (city) I made the most of getting to some quilting shops..........

My girlfriend and I went and met Anita at Prints Charming...........lucky for us it was market day so some bargains around.........these are the fabrics I got............the greens are much more vibrant and bright then the pic..........it is only a small shop but that place was packed when we got there just after opening............

Not to far away around a couple of streets (but world apart fabric wise) we went to Quiltsmith............bargains again.......

most of what I got was $9/metre

and we were so close so we went to the No 1 patisserie in Syd.............it is in Balmain.........Adriano Zumbo's................the food were works of art.............

this one was mine...........I could hardly break into it as it was so amazing I didn't want to wreak it but life goes on and I had to and it was yummo...........

after all the food we wandered around the Balmain markets...........I got these little purses and hair bands.........yaks wool

On Sunday Fairy Girl and I went into the city..........caught a jet cat, train, bus and ferry..........nothing quite like public transport when you live where there is NONE............it is a real hit...........and escalators..........it is so funny watching Fairy girl on these............on is okay it is the getting on and off that tests her out............

We wandered around the rocks area..........this Christmas tree it is made with chairs..........very unusual....but then we are in the city.........anything goes there.......

High School Musical started in Sydney this weekend but fairy girl and I went to a preview show last weekend............it was wonderful.............a girlfriend and her daughter came with us..............High School Musical is every where as High School Musical 3 has just come out at the movies too.....the show was great...........

On the way home I went to Blueberries...........it is a fairly new patchwork shop and if you are travelling on the Newcaslte freeway it is between the Tuggerah and Wyong exits off the freeway...........not to hard to find (well me the country chick worked it out) will have to make another stop there next trip to the "big smoke"...........

Hi got an email from Pam - My Creative Mind to say she received my bag.........and she was
secretly wishing she had some stitching on it...........how lucky was I that
I used a stitchery on her bag..............so pleased you like the bag Pam
and thanks heaps Linda -All Stitched Up for organising a fab swap............. the stitchery is one of Capricorn Quilts designs........from her BOM stitcheries............I have really enjoyed stitching her designs..........

and yes after my post yesterday another mystery email from my bag swap partner.............she is being very cheeky...........can't wait to find out who she is but I do love surprises so I am glad I have not worked it out..............

I have not heard if my bag swap partner has received my bag I sent off yet and I have not received mine but I have had some emails from my partner teasing me....very sneeky......maybe in Tuesday's mail.......I feel like I am stalking my mail man............

PS it is a glorious day here in my part of OZ......28 degrees

Here are the flowers that my Mum and Dad sent me for my birthday and where I live it a challenge to receive flowers……….. Thanks to everyone for there wonderful wishes………I had a lovely day and it will finish up with drinks at a friends place tomorrow and she has a birthday this week………Thanks to Tracey for the lovely chook (how appropriate) she sent me and some other goodies……sorry no picture….but I will have to keep an eye on it as fairy girl wants to look after it for me……….

Pincushion Swap.................
I received a wonderful chook pincushion from my swap partner Robin in New York..........
Just going to post a pic but can't find the camera so will be back later with that........my chooks name is "Sunny" and the material a a lovely sunflower print and I am to think only good thought when using 'Sunny" and Sunny is bright and cheery..........I also received a few other goodies in my package thanks so much Robin..............this swap has been so much fun.........and a big thank you to Angela for organising it...........
