bargains galore...........

On my way home from holidays I kept an eye out for quilt shops.............not so much luck when you travel on a weekend..............I managed to slip into one just on closing and found a couple of bits of fabric and some for a dress for Fairy Girl...............but as I came past another shop i called into earlier in the year I discovered it was open on a Sunday morning...........how exciting i thought...........and then I saw a garage sale sign and thought of that must be down the side street..............BUT NO it was the shop.............they had a garage sale all weekend...........what was to be a 5 minute stopped ended up being for a lot longer............heaps of beautiful fabrics reduces and then I got an even better price on the fabrics so I just got a little carried away.........but is was worth it for the shop lady getting rid of more stock......I also got some super bargains on a bundle of various patterns............
Shame to see a quilt shop closing.............I wished she was close to me as she had a lovely shop with great fabrics and patterns...........also a wonderful sewing room for groups.............
Verna by Kate Spain - the pink on the bottom a dress or top for Fairy Girl is in the plans
lots of reproductions........
I use this wide elastic in skirts and shorts.....this is nearly a full roll that I would have only been able to buy 5 metres and covered the cost............if you need a metre or too let me know.............I have plenty...........
Garden Party..........already have a little of this so now I can add this to it and make some more goodies..........
Bookworm brought these bits............no idea what he is going to do with it but he likes the bright strong colours.............personally they scare me.........

Paper bag swap received.............

Friends in an online group had a paper bag swap..........I sent my goodies to Kerri..........look what she made me.........a thread keeper for beside my machine. I only have one and sometimes Fairy Girl borrows it. Now we can share both of them.........
Woops just realised the little pincushion that moves is sitting over some stitching.............Kerri did this beautiful stitchery for me too..........
and the bottom part..........
The fabrics have extra special meaning as Maree Farmyard Crafts sent me the fat 1/4's in an swap and I was saving them for something special for me so the perfect use..............
Kerri has done a wonderful job and I have a wonderful reminder of both my great blogger friends beside my machine..........

A day out...........

I've had a lovely day out...........took my cards to a ladies day...........the day was supposed to be in a garden but with the AWFUL FREEZING WET WEATHER we have had thankfully they were able to get an indoor venue at the last minute.
Lots of different stalls but I got to be next to Kerry - Cottage on the Hill - excellent
This is one of Kerry's new quilts "1800 stars" I think she called it.........
I just love it and it is done with reproductions prints............
She had kits - one nearly traveled home with me.........
of course then I had to get a couple of fat 1/4's
mine on the left  (just into the shop - A Journey Through Time The Old Sturbridge Village Collection) love the whole range...........
Fairy Girl picked the 1930's repro.
Fairy Girl also got to have a quick catch up with Little Miss Thimble..........
I got to see lots of the Club Quilt ladies which was great..........lots of quilts on display for the day too.......
Fairy girl took a liking to two quilts and wants to make them...........we'll see what happens there
The one on the right is made by Gaizie.......
AND how tell me how on earth did the kids swangle this one but meet "2Up" (a bantam game chook) (and named 2up since he is a game bird and 2up is a game- get it - I didn't until explained on the way home)
2up is one day old on the left and I hope is a HEN........
......this is Book Worms new pet - lets hope we can keep it warm enough for the next few days it is like a cold winters change and freezing.......it should be spring..........
On the right we have "Sunshine" Fairy Girls new pet......
......I had budgies for years as a kid so I am quite pleased Fairy Girl has one now too.............
the farm menagerie has expanded............LOL............

life never stops...........

WOW where have the last 2-3 weeks gone...........
a seriously neglected garden but beautifully flowering spots here and there
heaps of sheep work.........and extra visitors which was handy for the lamb marking........

the lake at Lake Cargelligo is finally full after years of drought...........both the town and lake are bigger then I thought they would be........
spotting windmills is fun on the Hay plain (see that little stick in the middle)
occassionally you get a vehicle to pass.............it has been many years since I went across this area but wonderful to see it looking so good

Black Swamp sculptures - something about a headless horseman scaring drovers
finally life stopped for a few days.....
....I spent some time here stitching Gardener's Journal
and playing with fabrics here..........

Now to catch up with everything..........and get over the travelling........
everywhere we went thru in NSW is looking wonderful and green with lots of crops everywhere too.......all the crops are up in head and some are just starting to turn.............harvest will be here in no time...........
I just wished Australia wasn't so big...........goodness knows how many countries I would have been thru if I lived in Europe............
