Ring around the moon......

last night while out feeding animals I looked up and there was a huge ring around the moon...........

And then a jet went past the moon and the line has shown up on the photo to.......

click to enlarge and even change the angle of the screen a little........

it will be easier to see but the ring goes from the top to the bottom of the photo................and it was a perfect circle............I was amazed it worked on my phone...........i didn't think it had when taking the pic but once I looked again it had shown up..........I didn't zoom in or anything I could only just fit it in the screen..........

it was so moon lit last night I could walk back to the house without a torch..........

Black Betty....

Starting to feel like a regular homeless motherless shelter here....... 

Introducing Black Betty..... Well that's what I am calling her......

she is tiny........

She jumps up on the seats no worries..........

Add Boris and Lamby the inn does need to find more space as 2 more calves are arriving tonight.......

It's been a busy week............

I had a quick catch up sleep over with Jenny@ Bird on the Border and Fiona @ Bubz Rugz, then with Fiona and  Kris @ Tag A Long Teddies we had lunch and a bit of a stitch........

then an extra surprise treat the next day I got to have lunch with Fiona and Michelle @ Rag Tag Stitchin........

And I was having such a great time chatting with the girls I forgot to take any pics...........but it was so nice to catch up.............

today we did some cattle  work which I would have put off til tomorrow but more rain is forecast next week.........and we are behind as it is............

it's the kind of day you wear a long sleeve spencer and a skivvy and a jumper and a coat and a scarf and a beanie........AND you don't get hot enough working to take any layers off.........bbbrrrr......

Thank goodness I wasn't on the bike...........

Did I say how much I love my wood fire.........

gotta go the babies are just about here so I have to go feed them..........

It's a boy......

introducing my new baby............

a boy so he will only be here for a few years...........we do run a business and bull calves (once marked called steers) only last here a few years............

now for a name.............

I was all set for Hetty the hereford heifer but then hello it's a boy.........so not sure now..........tried Arthur, Henry, George and Billy but they are not working........thinking it's not going to be a real name........

He's a big lump of a calf........

Maybe he was a twin???? anyway I am his new mother..........

How cute is he...........

Everything around here involves MUD, MUD and more MUD and lots of it at the moment............

We need to do some sheep work today and had to go and drain the yards in order to get the sheep thru............

lots of bucketing involved here...........

then we kind of swept it with grain rakes......to take the slop off the top....

atleast I think the sheep will walk thru now...........it's putrid water/mud and stinks........but the job had to be done.......

So Lamby has a new friend to sleep with now.........in the haystack.......

look at her trying to get the bottles for some more milk........

she is a greedy guts............

She has grown heaps........she loves the deck on the Chookshed...........nice sunny spot out of the wind..........

finally some sunny days and the feed is growing.........

So any suggestions for my new baby boys name????

Life interruptions... .

Lots of life interruptions going on here........ 

Kids are on holidays..... We have a couple extras getting some farm work experience in....

And a few really curved balls that just knock you out of whack that require lots of time and big decisions......

Enjoying some work holidays too  which is great........ 

Can't even stitch as in my marathon stitching time I over did it on my thumb and it has a few cracks which are not healing quick enough.... Cold weather and wood chopping have not helped...... 

Can't believe my kids are growing up so fast...... The house dynamics just keep changing as they grow....... 

Lots of stock work happening at the moment with sheep and cattle.... 

Stay warm...... Not sure when I am back but I will be back to annoy you all don't worry.....

I am so addicted to making these blocks........I just love them..........

Layout options..............I took pics of all the main blocks and collaged them in Picasa.......hit shuffle a few times then I see what it looks like......picasa lets me drag the blocks around to even out the colours......and also put in the white lines/framing...........I can't fit in the fillers but this gives me a great plan...........

this one above got canned as I needed more blocks at the time...............
