Laughs, stirring, good food, inspiration, motivation, and special time together.......

The last Chookshed party in the Chookshed was 2021.....

2022.....to wet flooding

2023.......Cancelled the night before - family emergency......

2024...... Rained and roads were terrible.......So only online.....

2025 we are back!!!!!

Got the binding on this quilt........

OMG the food..........very delicious by everyone.......

Everyone jumps in and does something..........

Sorry I've been missing in action........ There is still more SS to finish up but I thought I'd share my month....... Lots of enjoying the moment..... And I did think of you all when taking these nature ones that I have shared with you below.......

Went to a fundraising lunch with some girlfriends that I rarely see .....

Chookshed birthday party this weekend...... Got some friends coming for a sleep over.......

Winter is finally here....... Very exciting we got a new wood fire..... OMG the pieces of wood can be so huge now....... But it's nice and snug but we only lit the fire this last week....... Very late but the weather has been so mild........

Scrub Stitchin' 2025 Day 4 part 3...........

Like I said Saturday was big...........

Saturday night was the theme dinner.......

"Winter Wonderland in the Warrumbungles"

The decorating was a little easier as most had been done prior to the retreat........but I wanted to add a few more bits.............its a special fun night.........

The table looked very pretty................

Thanks heaps to Di for the hundreds of snowflakes........they were great and looks so cool.......

I dressed as snowflakes...........white and sparkling catching the light............

Here I am with "Elsa"...........

Brenda on the right went with the "Warrumbungles National Park" think gum leaves and flannel flowers around her neck............

So much fun seeing everyone dressed up...........

be that all out or super simple......

some went with the frosty cold snowman and or snow balls............

Others just dressed in their winter woolies..........

Given the theme of the Warrumbungles and the Warrumbungles National Park  being Australia's first Dark Sky Park there were some stars...........

Even some penguins from the south pole...........

Olaf and Elsa came to visit also.............

We also do our "Make It, Fake It or Bake It" swap at the dinner............

I'll share that another time...........

Lots of fun and laughs...........and that's what it's all about..........

Scrub Stitchin' 2025 Day 4 part 2..........

Day 4 as I said was action packed...........sewing, group photo, show and tell, special dinner........lots happening.......let alone the fitting the meals and nibbles in.........

I've been writing this post for way to long.........

I got this kit from Sandy @ Shiralee Stitches while at the retreat so decided to start cutting it up.............

Sandy sat near me stitching while I cut and we chatted...........

There was a few zig-zag quilts there using the ruler we got last year...........

They all look a bit different - different layouts, some paired some random, borders etc..........

They give a different effect depending on what way the zig zag goes as to me it looks more like ric rac when it is horizontal.........

The green and blue one is Miss Jules...........

This quilt is also Miss Jules..........She was working on it at Warwick retreat last year too............

Show and tell was amazing..........look what Brenda whipped out of a bag she had just shown us...........

There was lost of show and tell and this wasn't the whole pile.............

pretty sure we could almost hang a quilt show...........

Kylie was sitting next to me all weekend and was great to see one of these blocks come together..........

Scrub Stitchin' 2025 Day 4 part 1.........

Wow day 4 had so much happening that I had to split it into a few parts.................

A beautiful grevillea...............

the bushes are always flowering when we have Scrub Stitchin'

unusual colour for a bottle brush...........it a lime colour.............

Lots of sewing happening around the room................

You can see both the group quilts happening on the design wall above and below...........it was an optional project.........the girls made one or two blocks to contribute.........we got so many we split them into two quilts and made a few extras for the second one...........
