I will get these triangles right......I will get these triangles right.......I will get these triangles right.........I will get these triangles right......I will get these triangles right......I will get these triangles right....I will get these triangles right......I will get these triangles right........I will get these triangles right.........I will get these triangles right......I will get these triangles right.......I will get these triangles right.....I will get these triangles right.........I will get these triangles right....I will get these triangles right.........I will get these triangles right..........
3rd time lucky........Thanks Heather...(she must think I am a complete idiot along with the rest of you).....I have moved the ruler slightly to the right so you can see the dotted line that is what I am supposed to line up with...........
The rectangle cuts as they finally should be.........fortunately I had only cut one set (the second wrong way) and I have plenty of fabric............
We went for a drive today to the movies...............it's the only thing Fairy Girl really wanted to do in the holidays so today was the day............a fun kids movie.........poor child hasn't been to the movies much because she sat in the seats and said I feel like I should put my seatbelt on.....lol.......
Oh and have worked out how to get the reverse stitching done on my quilt..............an itunes gift voucher and Fairy girl.........fair payment I would say as I would throw the quilt in a corner or leave it hanging on the wall and not get it finished...........she has unpicked 2 of 9 rows.....so I will start constructing from the bottom..............
thinking of a name for my quilt.............Cosmo maybe turn into "Omsoc" (reverse)
.........take care til next time.....Chookyblue......... |

Sounds like a very fair deal to avoid doing the unpicking yourself! And going to the movies probably helped sweeten the deal.
lol... you did get it right...you did get it right...you did get it right....you did get it right.....you did get it right and so on and so on!!!!
It will be worthy persevering with and a bit of reverse sewing Chooky
Never give up Chooky!
third time lucky!
I think if you have to reverse sew - getting an assistant is a perfect solution - its no fun thats for sure...
Mistakes just seem to be part of every quilt. As the Amish believe, it keeps us humble, and often they will include a "humility block" in their settings. I tend to find a humility block or two AFTER my quilt has been quilted :)
Is Anka's treasure really that???? I am sure you will get there in the end. Sounds like you and fairy girl had fun at the movies. Enjoy the lady of the holidays
I think "Omsoc" is the perfect name. Very apt. Good luck with the rest of it.
Of course you can do this.....big deep breath....glad you went to the movies with your baby girl...xx
Oh dear it is frustrating but it will be worth it in the end. You could rent the girl out a iTunes voucher is a very cheap rate.
Oh no... I think "bribery" is illegal in this country! Oopps perhaps now you'll have to pay double... for shhh money! :)
Loved that movie!!!!! I think that was a good deal and love the new name of your quilt! Omsoc!
Now when I get around to making mine Chooky should get it right I hope.
Hugs.....
Lucky for me you have the perserverance to sort out our 'blonde' cutting moments!!!!....I am wondering if you rent out the Fairy Girl reverse sewing machine???? I have some to do now, though not as much as you had, I am slower than you. And yes it will bw worth it, the quilt is a show stoppper, I am loving working on it (now you've got it all worked out for us!!)Whether it's called Cosmo or Omsoc, there were a few Smoco's in the middle of construction!!!!.....heehee....(sorry, lame heh?) gotta get back to mine........
3 goes, gosh that is less muck up than I do for a standard everyday normal thing, lol. Yay for your perseverance, and yay for getting it right, right, right!!!
I m keeping my fingers crossed that there is no attempt four .....
Was Despicable 2 good???? I really want to see it I love kids movies
Glad you are working it out and we can all earn from your mistakes lol
Lol! She's not the only little girl who hasn't been to the movies much ... I've only taken Miss L (5yo) twice .. and both times was about 3/4 way through last year, when Madagascar 3 and Tinkerbell 4 were out!! Unfortunately for her, I'd much rather spend the $30 on 2 dvds for her than have to pay that much for us both to go see ONE movie, for no more than 1.5hrs!! :D ... Good thinking getting her to assist you on the unpicking - by the time she's sewing herself, she'll be so sick of reverse-sewing that she'll be focused on making sure everything is sewn right first time, lol!!

What did we do before itunes cards???
Glad it is now working out! The movie looks fun!
Goodness... sounds complicated!!! I think I will steer clear of those triangles! xxx
3rd time lucky! Let's hope it is all plain sailing from now on. It will be stunning when it is finished. Good on Fairy Girl for getting in and reverse stitching, even if there was a bit of a sweetener. The movie sounds fun.
I am so glad you are nutting this out for me . . . my ruler and book should be here this week . . . the end result will be stunning!
Great idea with the reverse sewing!! Inspired even :-) Hope you all enjoyed the movie. Glad you worked out that ruler - looks like a tricky thing to get the hang of, but once that happens, hopefully it's clear cutting.
I like your reverse stitching strategy. And glad you figured out the ruler - great tools once you know which line does what. Remember the 'good old days' when we used templates? Or is that just me...
Sounds like me in my sewing room this afternoon!! I truly truly HATE foundation sewing urgggghhh !! Thanks for your kind words on my blog ..Even sadder when said person was a friend & part of my quilting group, said she didn't want anything to do with us but reads my blog !! made me disinclined to blog especially put pics of Seth up as that's what she was looking for apparently !!
Anyway have decided that she won't control me like this so I will smile & carry on :)
You've gotta persevere don't you? Good on you. They still look too complicated to me!
