A visit to the optometrist last week resulted in another pair of glasses and quite a change in my eyes since March when I just got new lens in my old frames........I don't wear them all the time but food packages are a challenge when cooking etc.......
It was getting harder to hand stitch so thought I should get them checked again............
definitely needed new glasses...............
I had to get new frames too since I will still use the old ones on the computer etc.............
I got these set closer too as I hold my sewing close when hand stitching.............
I told them only show me the cheapest frames as I don't have extra cash to spend on expensive ones.......and these are very similiar to my old ones so just perfect..............
Not sure what the old man got just before me but his bill was $1400........OMG thank goodness that was not me........and thank goodness I don't have to wear them all the time ....YET....
Catch you later

Isn't it great to be able to see better? I only need my glasses for up close things too, thank goodness, although I'm sure the day will come when I need to wear them all the time.
I'm in the same boat as you! Food packaging, close work like stitching requires a little extra help.
Maybe he spent 1400 on your Christmas gift, have you been dropping expensive hints?
I had the not-now-but-on-the-way visit just a few weeks ago. I'll be joining you soon.

I feel the man before you pain, Miss S and my glasses between us were nearly $1000 out of pocket, not sure why we pay for the extras in our health ins for. At least you can see what you are cooking and the all important stitching.
Just hope you don't need multifocals for awhile. Those lenses are sooooo dear!
Great looking frames...unfortunately I put mine on as soon as Im out of the bathroom adn dont take them off til I go to sleep...in some ways that is easier than on and off - at least you dont lose them!
I can't wear bifocals so I have 3, yup, 3 pairs of glasses: 1 for seeing distances (driving mostly), one for sewing and reading, and one for the 24 inches between my chair and my computer at work!
I feel your dilemma. My specs are on and off my face a zeal on times a day. Very annoying but I couldn't handle multi focals. Age is a bummer. Sharyn:)
getting old is such a bummer!! Xx
Being able to see properly makes sewing so much easier. When I got the bill for my first set of progressive lenses I nearly died :) they are soooo expensive (even with health insurance) wish I was young(er) again.
$1400! That poor man will need to take out a second mortgage! I was interested to read that you had mentioned that you had the new glasses adjusted as you prefer to hold your work closer...so do I but I've tried to retrain myself to hold my stitching away or put it on my knee but I hate it! I'm often sewing without really being able to see it properly :-/ I will have to check that out!,
Very stylish Chooky.
Bummer getting old, I just picked up a pair for driving before I hit a tree or something.
Separate ones for distance and close up now!
I was having the same problem and went last week to get new glasses. It was only jan when I lags went. EAch time the are getting worse.
I am in denial. I use mine to sew all the time now but haven't reached the point of taking them with me everywhere.....it won't be long though. Nice colour.
Are your other frames blue? I like the purple. Won't tell you what my glasses cost (I wear multi-focals) but I figure if I have to wear them all day every day then I'm having frames I really like.
Lovely frames.....I am so pleased I have Private Health Cover....
Snap!...Got me some purple ones a couple of weeks ago too! Yours are very pretty.
Love the new specs... same colour as mine. Birds of a feather eh....:o) I saved my Tesco (supermarket) vouchers.... waited for the 'double up' offer then got my specs for free! Well.. technically free I know I had to give the robbing pirates loads of money for groceries over the year to get the vouchers but still... free specs... not bad eh!
I hear you with the packaging and trying to cook.
Love the colour of your frames :)
I just got stronger ones too! Got them tested super close for stitching. Mine are pink and purple lol
So glad we have Specsavers here!
Glad it runs in the family. TWO new pairs for me. One for computer and sewing and another pair for walking around. Particularly the supermarket :-)
They look great!
Nice and pink for a blue girl... I think thats the worst thing about ageing is not being see close up without glasses...but hey , one has to stitch!
We have the same frames!!! I just checked the numbers on mine (with a magnify glass) and we have the same model number! LOL You are in GOOD company!!!
Ha ha snap! I thought...mmm those specs look familiar?...well they should, they are the same as mine! Good taste is all I can say he he (we won't mention the fact that we both went what is cheap!) :)
