Yes well it is call "dipping" but they have to get dunked under the water in the dip so dunking sheep works for me..............
Little "Z" is getting bigger and here's "Z" getting a look at a mob of sheep..........he's showing lots of interest which is great.............

Sorry about the light but the sun was in the wrong spot.............the sheep go into a narrow race and then onto a conveyer belt.......
see at the top of the pic the sheep is about to go over the edge and fall into the water.............
around they go .........being pushed under the water by someone just before this position.............it's like going thru an "s" track...........
around the bend then you can walk out and slide down the shute...........
it's a big job and the more people the better.........but we got thru with a hand from a couple of brothers............and our visitors.............nothing like putting visitors to work...............
While it was cool Saturday the sun was shining so the sheep dried off well................
Sunday and Monday were another story......chilly and cloudy then chilly and sunny...............

Looks like you were lucky you decided to tackle it on Saturday - better conditions all around! And when visiting farms, I think its a given they just have to help out sometimes.... Hope you have a great week!

That's a bit more civilised than we did when I was growing up on a NZ farm. Our dip was round and the sheep had to be pushed in.
Your way is much faster.
I think I like dunking sheep. Z definitely looked like he was itching to get amongst them.
Reading the comments I see I wasn't the only one who thought the read drunken sheep.
As a farmer visitor at times I love it when Im asked to help.
I love reading your posts about the 'workings' of your property. The post made the process of dunking sheep sound straight forward but I bet it has its share of dramas sometimes :-)

Excuse the city slicker ignorance, but why is this required - just a bath? Or special stuff in the water to wash them with?

Dunking seems like exactly the right word to me...not like they are just dipping their toesies in after all...won't be long until Z is in there amongst it...
