Have one - used it a lot for about 6 months - been in the cupboard for years and years...I'd try for a second hand one as a trial if you have a cash converters sort of place.
yes i bought DD1 a sunbeam one for xmas one year,it doesnt get used,i did try the dried tomatoes,i didnt have a lot of success with it,DD1 has dried fruit for the kids on it once but the kids wouldnt eat it,lol. Can beef jerky be dried out in the oven? Anyway i hope boy wonder has fun with it all.xx
We own a Sunbeam one and it is a great machine. Look out for fruit that is cheap, we pick up grapes from the Swan Valley and make a years supply of Sultana's. Dried tomatoes apple banana's all turn out beautifully. A friend borrowed it years ago to make the Beef Jerky, for a camping trip.If you read the Organic Gardener's magazine or any of those type of magazines there are adds and articles in them. Happy days. Bev.
I used to have one a few years ago, when I had a family at home, and dried lots of fruit etc, and had 12 trays with it, HarvestMaid I think it was, great machine, but since I started machine quilting as a business and no longer have anyone else living at home I sold it.
