Jacaranda's.........

My favourite tree that I can grow well in my garden is a jacaranda.............so this is my favourite time of the year...................I have them everywhere...........
I know some people will say they are blooming messy trees but that is forgotten with their beauty.............
I think I have about 19-20 in the garden...........
yep heaps........
my bouganvillea's are putting on an amazing display...........
so together they are stunning............
the garden is doing amazingly well considering the drought...........but as spring has sprung some things have not sprung back to life and a few are struggling..........
gardening is not easy out here..........I am constantly chasing hoses etc...... watering things and thankfully my big dam has a good supply of water for summer this year unlike some of our other dams..........
But I would not live out here without a garden.......you need a sanctuary............
&&&&
now don't forget to read my last post.............i'll do the draw on the 1st........
Catch you later

The Jacarandas around here are just beginning to open. We can see loads of trees from the kitchen window, and in amongst the greenery, there's the start of some wonderful purple. We don't have either bougainvillea or jacaranda in our garden, but we do have loads of pig face in various colours. Such happy bright flowers.

Oh what wonderful colors, much richer than ours over here in Germany.
If I just could, would love to share some "rain" with you.

I Love Jacarandas, 19-20 in one garden would be quite a showpiece! I just have one here which is still quite small - love yours!!

Such wonderful colours. We live on a windy hillside in Wales, and these exotic plants I can only dream about. Thank you so much for sharing your sanctuary!

Beautiful colours! As my son would say 'look at that beautiful garden mum!'. He bases his four yr old garden ideas on the colours - apparently our garden isn't very nice even though hubby has just spent hours landscaping. Not enough colour. He would adore these.

Just beautiful. Colour in nature does wonders for your state of mind. The Jacarandas are always so pretty. Hope you have a less stressful summer season this year x

Hello Donna,

They are my favourite tree as well. My Mum gave us some Jacaranda's when we got back from our Honeymoon to plant in that garden. I have been planting Salvia's over the past couple of years, so many tough ones. I get them from a nursery that only grows plants that survive. The owner of the centre put me onto the Mediterranean Garden Society, have a look at there site and you will find lots of into for gardens like ours.

Happy days.
Bev.

we loved all the jacarandas and bouganvilleas when we visited Brisbane a few weeks ago. They were so beautiful. How lucky of you to have them in your own yard.
stunning bouganvillea display!

Love Jacarandas...too far south to grow them unfortunately...they make a beautiful display and I'd consider well worth any "mess"...
