burning the candle.............

You know the saying........"burning the candle at both ends"
I well and truly feel like I am doing that at the moment........I think I am about to get burnt....
rarely a day at home and trying to help out with everything here means I have been doing stuff some days before I leave the house and every afternoon/evening when I get home doing more again..........the days are long at the moment...........
harvest at various places, fly blown sheep, heifers calving (one to shoot), let alone the garden which if you have been here will know takes some keeping up for watering alone....trying to supervise school work.....housework OUCH.....don't say that swear word........thank goodness for the washing rack on the verendah as I am happy to go there after dark.......let alone other life issues......and secret sewing OMG.......
10 days to get my SSCS parcel finished............
I know things will ease up
NO sympathy wanted but my question is do you ever feel like your wearing toooooo many hats.....
how many hats do you wear???
ok must go bed is calling......
.........take care til next time.....Chookyblue........

just make sure it doesn't burn to the middle!... remember taking a break means the burning will stop for a while ... and will let you last longer xx

Know the feeling. Sometimes life feels like you're hanging on to a runaway bull by the tail hoping he runs out of puff before you trip and end up in a heap of smelly stuff (being polite here). My headgear is always a Dunces hat.... because I'm as thick as that bulls excrement and can't grasp the concept of letting go of anything in order to save myself. Chooky... this is a real case of do as I say and not as I do.... TAKE A BREAK! You'll be burnt out and comatose by Christmas if you don't! Signed..... The Prophet of Doom! xxx

me, me, me - way too many hats and it doesn't look like it is going to change for a while! I am thinking I am going to go into lockdown for 2 weeks from boxing day - just staying put right here on my own little dung hill!!! Take care of yourself in there somewhereLlovely!!

I have no idea how you keep all those balls in the air....it's easy to get so tired that you fall out of a veggie box or are too slow to duck out of the way of a cyclone fence....or maybe that's just old age!! Try to get some rest if you can.

Yep feel like that now and I am supposed to be retired... You are amazing but do slowdown. Hanging the washing out in the evening sounds good. Take care.

Sometimes a good cry helps relieve the pressure. Or a bottle of wine.

Wow! You are so busy! I used to be there, working full time, children at home, and the dreaded house work. You have so much more with the farm work and garden. I hope you get a chance for a break and some rest soon!

You are a dynamo! Just keep treading water And don't stop, and definitely don't pick up any more hats!

I know the feeling too. It looks like there isn't an end in sight and all you can do is keep going. I liken it to those spinning plates at the circus, you have to keep moving from plate to plate to keep them from toppling. It's tough. I haven't joined any swaps this year so it was one hat I took off even though I enjoy swapping, the pressure can be too much. Take care dear Chooky.

It happens to us all now and then, but at the time it feels like it will never end. I know you well enough to know that all the things that need doing will get done, and you will come out the other side. Don't forget to look after yourself too x

Sounds like we all wear many hats! I'm like Tracy above and took off my hat for SSCS which made me a little sad but I just couldn't fit another thing! The biggest hat I wear is the Caring Hat which Brings me down to Earth! Thinking of you...

Oh Chooky... I know what you mean. Sometimes I feel like I'm being pulled in 10 different directions at the same time...and something will break... but it doesn't and it works out and I find a day to myself to recharge the batteries.
Just remember to breathe...& at busy times like this... only list in a day what is absolutely necessary to do...the rest WILL wait. Take care xox

Not nearly as many hats as you - Hope things settle down soon - at least school work will take a break soon(ish). You will get through it - you always do - just focus one thing at a time.

And when you work off-farm and work colleagues say "oh so you don't work tomorrow do you?" as if when you're at home you do nothing! Take care xx
