Changes......

We had so much trouble with the windmill the last year and with no rain we had massive water issues...........
when you live where we live no ground water = no sheep and cows = no farm income.........
We bit the bullet so to speak and pulled up the windmill pipes and installed solar panels and new pump..........we always have sun and it will pump anytime during the day water levels start to drop in the tanks..........wind at times is unreliable here......we can get by when we have water in the dams but when that  is gone and we need to water many more paddocks on the farm then we could not get enough water...........and the bonus is I a have a little extra water for my garden..........the windmill stand will stay there absolutely useless but I love seeing a windmill...........
I snapped this photo on my walk this morning........
out with the old in with the new..........
today I did my 10 mins on the machine and then cut some more "Edwardsia" blocks.........then it was far to hot in the Chookshed even with the air con on so we moved back inside to continue and the much better air con...........
And my friend Kylie @ Indigo and Quince was visiting for the night and she remembered this trip to bring her EPP........she had it packed last time and left it all on the bench at home..........
BUT this is a girl who was NOT i repeat NOT going to get into EPP..............but she keeps visiting and slowly I have turned her into a fan..........and she has started a second EPP quilt.......she found this one in the USA I think and I just can't remember the name at the minute but it is lovely.........and she is very addicted........she was never going to make an EPP quilt let alone in browns...........HHHEEEE guess I won............
She has to make 12 blocks and I saw two and i'm loving it also.........
&&&&&
it's a stinker here today so nice to be hanging out inside in the air con watching the winter olympics..........go Aussies...........
Enjoy your weekend......
Catch you later......
Chookyblue......

Great way to solve your water problem. I'd love a windmill on The Block even though it would only be for show. We have abore pump and rain water tanks.
Nice to have a friend that you got hooked onto EPP join you for some stitching. Lovely fabrics ..

The EPP project looks interesting.

Nice that the windmill will stay.
If you can’t share your addiction with friends who can you share them with?

Glad you are leaving the windmill. I love seeing old windmills. My grandmother had one in her yard but when the new owners took over they removed it. I miss seeing it there when we drive past to see my Mum. Kylie's block looks like Brimfield Awakening. It's on my EPP list to do. I got my kit for it in Brisbane. :) Hugs,xx

Love to see the windmill too and nice EPP. I went to chinchilla in my car this weekend ...no sewing sadly.

Glad you are keeping the windmill - such an iconic shape. Love your friends EPP. xx

Hence the phrase never say never! Love your photo and so glad you will keep the sentinal windmill overseeing your paddocks. EPP helps the itch when you can't be in your room sewing by machine this way we can always be productive. I have to laugh it is funny we in the Americas are so for your patterns and designers and you are so much for the America's designers we are always searching at arms length. Keep cool

Disgustingly hot here too and I was out sewing in no air con...drrrr...you definitely need to keep the windmill even if its just a decorative item now.

Good idea to keep the windmill, even if it's jut for its good looks Chooky.
EPP is either something one loves or really does not... good work on encouraging your friend!

Love your photo of the old and the new. It will be so reassuring to have more secure water. Go Kylie! It should look great.

Finally getting somecat h upreading done and look how busy you have been with visits to the city ( is that Sydney?), concerts, material shops ......... and changes to the farm! The solar panels will be worth their weight in gold! I agree about the magic of a windmill - there is just something about them and your photo is stunning!
