this is the map of what has burnt from Satelitte.........the arrow points to yesterday............on the right is todays pass............massive area burnt on the right side.............

update........

Fire really bad..........28 homes lost..........40 sheds etc..........plus machinery, stock, amounts unknown at this stage.......40,000ha at least burnt out..........100km perimeter..........

STILL OUT OF CONTROL..........

the wind and the temps yesterday were horrendous..........up to 46 degC and wind in the afternoon 60km-80km per hour.........worst fire conditons possible.........

today is going to about 37 deg..........bit breezy but not the wind like yesterday...........

lots of worrying for family and friends.......

this is a long way from over...........

I have lots of friends and family in the path of a terrible fire and with a wind swing it could be me................please let the wind stop..................
EDIT 4am the wind has dropped but there is not enough detail about where the fire has burnt at the moment..........

Heat break.......

Either way you look at it the 2 forecasts below from different sites it just mean it is going to be crap weather...........

And I know others are hotter..........So when the weather breaks I will return............

When we get this weather everything struggles.....life is sucked out of everything including me..........things are looking terrible in the garden..........think I will lose some plants and some of the lawn is crispy fried...........the weather has been so dry for so long now.........things are giving up.........the poor stock are trying to find what ever shade they can all day............we haven't had a summer like this for awhile so with no end in sight at the moment i'll take a break...........when it cools down or rains i'll return............. 

dams which are getting low in water need to be checked for sheep stuck in mud........

trying to stay cool............

mention a muddy dam these days and the kids want to go FAST.......

.....so yesterday afternoon we headed down to the neighbours dam to check it out.......

......there is a smaller dam to the left of the photo that is much lower...........

so in order to stay cool and wear the time away while it was still so very hot at 6pm we took some chairs and beers and headed off..............park the ute in the right spot to get a bit of shade..............

lots of kangaroos were wanting to come in for a drink...........

Patricia was telling me she was chief water skiing photographer the other day 

heres my attempt at chief boat photographer..........

And she sent me her water sunset photo............does this one measure up Patricia????

I know it's not the pristine beach/lake views but it's very special to me..........

yesterday morning Fairy Girl snapped these of bookworm mud boy...........catching little fish out of the drying up dam............

moving them to another spot..........

It was pretty dark when we left.........started counting stars.........

I do live in a special spot even if it is hot and dry..........

I have a problem.............

Look what I did in 5 mins this morning..............seriously......why had I not done it earlier..........clearing off the table I found the pages I had copied months ago out of Some Kind of Wonderful so then I thought I would put them into bag and I knew where I had some bits and opened another draw and found more so I feel Susan has been a good influence on me so far..........

I have been working on another project this morning in the chook shed but was itching to make another thread catcher..........this is another 7x11in one and Fairy Girl I think will get this one...............

Another stinker here today but not as bad as yesterday..............

nothing under 38 forecast for the next week..........yippee.........

just can't help myself..........

these things are addictive............3 more done...........all nested together made of chook fabric.....

Susan and I have been discussing decorative stitches and she said she might do some on hers............so when I went out and did mine this morning I used 2 different stitches...........

I'm going to try and use them  more they are pretty......we also discovered we have the same machines so what she learns in her class she can share.........

all chook fabric which I think Nicolette sent me quite awhile ago..........

I made some different sizes.........

front red - as per pattern........

red back - think it was 6x10"

 blue one - 7x11"

I found it was easier to turn the thread catchers inside out to top stitch as I could fit them under the foot better and see where I was sewing............all was good until I hit a pin...........that took some getting out of the fabric...........

I liked the stitch above too...........
