Scrub Stitchin' 2025 Day 4 part 1.........

Wow day 4 had so much happening that I had to split it into a few parts.................

A beautiful grevillea...............

the bushes are always flowering when we have Scrub Stitchin'

unusual colour for a bottle brush...........it a lime colour.............

Lots of sewing happening around the room................

You can see both the group quilts happening on the design wall above and below...........it was an optional project.........the girls made one or two blocks to contribute.........we got so many we split them into two quilts and made a few extras for the second one...........

Every year we have a group photo.............I have already shared the group photo but Mick got carried away with my camera so here's a bit more of the fun............

Life...........

My head was hurting my motivation was so low but I dragged myself out of bed and went for a short walk.......

OMG the night sky fills my cup...... It was darker when I started so I saw lots of satellites including Starlink just as I left the house..... Perfect timing ...... Not the best view I've had but definitely could identify it........ There were lots of other satellites this morning also...... Several meteors...... So cool when you see them...... Should have gone a bit earlier, might try that tonight as there is a meteor shower around at present........

The air was perfectly still......I could hear the neighbours dogs barking off in the distance miles away...... Occasionally a calf bellowed.......

As the morning woke so did the life.....I heard a Willy tweeting near the house...... Ducks over at the dam......

Slowly the day appears......

I'm so fortunate to have this beautiful part of the world to walk in....... No cars, no people, no noise, most importantly I feel safe walking along in the dark when many cannot take this opportunity or take a risk on their life if they do.......

I am scared of the dark except when I go for these walks.........I feel safe with the light of the night sky........I am not sure how to describe it but I am in awe of it and it fills my cup........

Scrub Stitchin' 2025 Day 3

 Another busy day for everyone..............

Sandy from Shiralee Stitches brought along some of her shop which was so pretty............I may have succumb to some purchases...........

Its always great to move the tables around and lay out some quilts................this one belongs to Di............its beautiful...........

Brenda made us a couple of Ginger Fluff Sponge cakes......she is prize winning for these cakes and they are as light as a feather............

a beautiful paddock lily I found on a walk...............

dragged a few of the girls off on a short walk.............got to keep moving.............and the mozzies only collected up under Kate's dress so that was good for us...........

I think this was a Kawandi lesson.............

Kate had stolen Jo's hat that she made..........

Cuppa and chat times are treasured.............

Another quilt being laid out..........

I worked on my binding and finally I think I got it finished on Friday..............

very slow process..........but I think I was quicker at sewing it down then attaching it to start with.........

All to quickly the retreat is passing by...........

but the moments are treasured by me and the joy of looking around the room seeing everyone mixing with each other........enjoying the wins and helping with the challenges.........

the conversations are many and varied..............

the colour, styles, skills, thoughts are many and varied but all valued just as they are........

it is a very special tribe to be part of..........

I am honored and so fortunate....

Scrub Stitchin' 2025 Day 2......

Scones on retreat are mandatory.............so 10am Thursday they were delivered perfect timing for morning tea.............

Served up with jam and cream..........the only way to eat scones...........

the gorgeous bottle brush were from the garden at Camp Cypress and I did get permission to pick some............

the other blossoms and leaves were from mine and Brenda's gardens...........

it worked well together...........

today was all about food................

And then later we were enjoying nibbles.............

sorry got some weird colouring across a few photos............

and that brings us to the end of day too.............pretty mild on the photo front................

Scrub Stitchin' 2025 day 1...........

 Ohhhhhhhh the last few weeks have been a whirl wind of activity and now I am finally thru it all and can stop and try and catch you up..........its been a wonderful time with friends and then family and I have fitted heaps in but now I need to stop for awhile.............

Lets start with Scrub Stitchin' posts........even thought i have some older posts to catch up on.........

wow what a year.........this year I decided to set up on the Sunday before the retreat which was great that the dining room was not in use........the final touches I added on the Wednesday morning and I must say this made life so much easier.........

huge thanks to Di (and Rusty), Mary, Brenda, Mum and Mr Chooky for helping with the setup.......

AND this year I decided that we would set up for the theme dinner before the retreat started.............it takes time the last few years and I thought we could enjoy it for longer............

The theme for dinner was "Winter Wonderland in the Warrumbungles"...........

Di sourced the bags for me and I am not sure where she got them but they looked fabulous on the tables.........

Slowly the room filled up and more quilts got hung on the walls............

I did start to attach a binding but that's a very long slow story..........

Unfortunately the power went out in the afternoon.........turned out to be a major black out for about 3 hours for the whole town so in the end we headed up early to the Bowling Club for dinner. 

Lucky we had planned the Bowling Club for dinner this year as they have an emergency generator so they could still cook our meals........

Of course we went back to sewing again once dinner was completed.............one of the girls won a meat raffle.........and we put a bit of money into the club..........

Just realised i don't have very many photos from day one so that's day one done.............

 I really cannot say any more then thankyou...............

As I said I am honored and grateful that you all choose to hang with this wonderful tribe........
It is a joy to organise a retreat for you to play with fabric, chat, eat, drink and be inspired with me.........

Its been a hectic week but a wonderful time with friends................now to hang with family so when I get a chance I will do some blog posts..........which are way over due...........

Scrub Stitchin' eve...............

Yep i'm still alive.........

Here is a photo from last year that I didn't share but its that time of the year when all roads lead to Scrub Stitchin'...............

The room is all set up...........just a few finishing touches tomorrow morning before the doors open at 10am......... 

Lou and Janice are here at present........its been a nice quite slower time.............

Annette is staying at her home away from home so she came down from the hills for lunch.........

Lots of girls are on the road today and tomorrow..........

I can't wait to see everyone............
