Sorry i don't have the SSCS posts prepared yet......
........busy with visitors, sewing and some lazing about.........
this is a new water trough for the cattle..........the boys had to get it moved and up and running.........
the reason they had to get it going is this dam has run out of water..............it's about 2-3 foot of
silt and about 6 inchs of water......but cattle will just bog in it and sheep get stuck in it.............hopefully this week we will be able to de-silt it..........if we do I will show you some photos...........
the kids had fun playing in the dam..........they had been over in the morning and caught 2 big fish with their nets and then wanted me to go back in the afternoon.............
thats when i took these pics.........it was very funny as my boy had to drag himself out into the dam on top of the silt in the 6ins of water..........then he would stand and try and catch things with his net then move again..........the pic below is him dragging himself out of the dam.........
they caught some yabbies and moved them to another dam with more water.......most have buried down into the mud and will stay there until it rains and fills the dam again........
some old tanks that have rusted out.....
then we went down to another dam.......this one is deeper..........the kids got in and washed all the silt off themselves..........it was starting to dry and pulling hairs.....lol...........
hungry sheep came over to the dam hoping we would feed them.............
more hungry sheep..........I hate going out in the paddocks at the moment............the sheep run up to you looking for the feed trailer...........
this is my house dam..........this is what I water my garden with and 1/2 the property...........there are other dams but none this big so when they run out this one is relied on a lot more pumping water to troughs in the paddocks...............
so i am cutting back watering in the garden......the lawns goes first as you can regrow it quickly once it does rain properly.........better to water shrubs and trees............who knows when it may rain again.......
....in the last 51/2 months we have had under 2inchs of rain hence why things are so bad..........
this month the daily temps are averaging 35.5degC
So what better to do when you don't want to look outside in the paddocks.........hide in the chook shed...........
These are the skirts for my nieces for christmas..........I brought the t-shirts and did a little applique on them........the girls loved them..........
Also I made Fairy Girl a dress...........supposed to be a 1hr dress but it took me longer as I was showing Fairy Girl how to read the pattern and getting her to help cut out pieces etc........
The pattern is McCalls M6102 size 8 (adult sizes) i did take out 2 cms in the front panel and shortened at the 2 spots marked on the pattern waist and a little lower.........but it fits pretty well and she can slide it over her head really easy..........she loves the colours.......the colours are a little funny here the background colour is a bright lime greeen and the 2 dot colours are a bit more blue grey.........
perfect for hot summer days.........
And there has been lots of swimming in the pool.......
Hope your having a nice time in between Christmas and New Year.......
Catch you later..............
