trying to stay cool............

mention a muddy dam these days and the kids want to go FAST.......
.....so yesterday afternoon we headed down to the neighbours dam to check it out.......
......there is a smaller dam to the left of the photo that is much lower...........
so in order to stay cool and wear the time away while it was still so very hot at 6pm we took some chairs and beers and headed off..............park the ute in the right spot to get a bit of shade..............
lots of kangaroos were wanting to come in for a drink...........
Patricia was telling me she was chief water skiing photographer the other day
heres my attempt at chief boat photographer..........
And she sent me her water sunset photo............does this one measure up Patricia????
I know it's not the pristine beach/lake views but it's very special to me..........
playing...........
yesterday morning Fairy Girl snapped these of bookworm mud boy...........catching little fish out of the drying up dam............
moving them to another spot..........
Hope you can find something to do to cool off.............
It was pretty dark when we left.........started counting stars.........
I do live in a special spot even if it is hot and dry..........
Catch you later..............

Watching stars in the outback is wonderful. We lose so much of their magic here in the city.
Being hot isn't so wonderful though.

Great photos Chooky. The heat is really bad down south so I'm not going to complain about our heat here as you are doing it tough. Hugs....

Thanks for sharing, it's much nicer to think of warmth right now, rather than the cold outside!

Going to a dam to cool off is great. Any were is great when it is so hot. I am lucky we have to beaches 5 minute from my place and a public pool over the road from my house.

Love your photos. I hate when it's this hot, it's just too hot to do anything! I'm itching to do some sewing but I just can't muster up the energy...

Love your new header! I'm pleased you are finding ways to keep cool in this dreadful weather. We are getting to 40c today and 42c tomorrow with no cool change in sight - ugh! What a kind and caring boy your son is, moving those fish to deeper water.

Hope you can keep cool today - we are sweltering here. So far no fire outbreaks, I hope that continues.

Our power just went out at home but is still on in town at our dealership - might have to go home and get the mixer because I want to make pizza dough to take to the beach for pizzas tonight! Lol!

Stay cool!

Cheers - Joolz

bring on the rain, for the sake of the fish, garden and stock! Stinking hot 45C yesterday here, but we have a mild 32 today, so hope you get some respite too. I have enjoyed seeing your collection of thread catchers...but I think they look like great project collectors to me...eg all your bits in one basket for a project...or in the case of a big quilt - several baskets...just a suggestion. Love love your use of decorative stitches, did a class to learn how to use mine and all I do is stitch our surname onto school clothing!

Its your own little bit of paradise Chooky. Sure beats looking at a fence, a road & straight into the neighbours house across the road. Tracee xx

Is it unusually hot and dry for this time of year for you? We are snowless so far for the second year in a row and it's cold but not bitterly like it's supposed to be. While the lack of snow is good for driving it isn't good for the water table.
