Ok I need help..........round 3 is now out and it is to include applique...........so keeping in mind the size is currently 15.5 x 13 inchs what ideas do you have for applique................
my worry is that it will look "big" and take away from the stitchery...................
please give me some ideas..........

Hmmm, maybe if u add another solid border you can applique a few flowers so that they overlap the new border and the existing blue one!!! Ok just a thought...its a tough one!!
Flowers- not to big or just a petal or two near the butterflies -
add another border then maybe a vine with some small flowers and leaves, you could also add a butterfly, thats just my idea

Hi Chooky, I love the look of the stitchery blocks...and I see what you mean about something that big looks heavy and clunky. Maybe something like reverse applique where you could not have big areas of other colors? More like 'rims' of shapes?

mmm definitely a hard one....it says has to "include" so maybe a combination of stitchery and a small amount of applique ??
How about appliqued shapes (hearts/flowers) that have little stitcheries on them.
just a suggestion.....interested to see what way you go...
I would have added a vine with simple flowers...in the blue field..just to keep down the size..
But I´m sure whatever you come up with it´s going to be wonderful!!

A vine with leaves and maybe a couple of flowers. Don't want it to over power the stitching.
Some small flowers scattered around the butterflies and some on the blue fabric would look great... I'm sure that whatever you come up with will look just amazing, can't wait to see it.

I think the smaller the applique the better it will look. Something dainty maybe some more butterflys bees and some small flowers. Good luck.

I think a few small applique flowers in a light colour.
I think daisies in a pastel with embroidered stems..........sort of growing on a vine, can you tell I don't garden????
Robyn had a good idea....I would do little applique flowers on a vine....
I agree with overlapping a vine into the blue area. Pretty little flowers and leaves would be lovely and add more color.
