dam play...............

Bookworm wanted to set some traps in a dam the other day and the bait for me was "but Mum there are some great shots there - bring your camera" so off we went
Quite an adventure..........the grass around this dam is REALLY thick and tall............
he had set some traps in the dam.........since we had taken the new pup with us and Bookworm was looking in the grass where he thought he found a sheep no maybe a hare "i'll put the pup onto it" (he thought) no next minute there was SCREAMING..............so funny...........running and screaming once he finally stopped screaming I found out a big old kangaroo hit him..........he was sick or injured and hiding in the long grass but DIDN'T like being disturbed............Fairy Girl and I had a great LOL..........
other then that screaming it was so still, silent and glorious at the dam.............
the clouds keep coming around but won't drop any rain.............
less then 1.5 inchs for the year so far............very, very dry
We had the flooding rains Nov/Dec and then the taps got turned off.
Which one is your favourite photo?
What's the sky look like at your place?

Catch you later..............

PS like the new header?

LUV the new header and that is my fabourite picture too. The sky looks so gorgeous - its a bit like that here today too - clear and sunny and fortuantely the temperature is finally dropping - still above 20 but hopefully no more 25+ days til probably October - by then I will have won lotto and been able to afford a summer house in Tassie. I will keep my fingers crossed for lots of rain (at night time of course) for you.

Like others I love your header and that is definitely my favourite photo too. Blue skys here with just a wisp of cloud. Like you we need rain although it is forecast for Sunday. We shall see. So glad to hear your Easter was a good one too.

Wow Chooky, your photo's knocked me in the eye, they are so 'dam' incredible! I love the first one and doesn't it look awesome as a header? Poor Bookworm, hope he recovered from his Kangaroo hit!! xo

Great photo's, We have had 10ml after 65 days of zip. It is amazing how clean everything is and the colours are so much brighter. I even took photo's of it running out the gutters. I was skipping around like a school girl. Grandad used to say if you dance around your yard in the nuddy it would bring on rain..... These days becareful of sunburn and google maps photo plane. Hehehe

Your new header is FAB! It's my favourite pic too. Please tell me that wiggly thing in the water isn't a snake....please!!
Sorry for laughing at Bookworms expense... but being 'biffed in the bush' by a cranky kangaroo deserves a good belly laugh. Thanks... I enjoyed that.

I love the new header Chooky, wish we could send some rain from Vic to you. We have already had our yearly total... I wonder what's in store for the rest of the year. I also know what it is like to wait and wait for it to come...

I just showed Tony her said it doesn't look as cold as when he saw it. Great snaps. Did the boy scream like a girl when he came across the roo.

Love all the pictures and your new header is super. I am a sky picture taking person.

We have had rain almost every day for months and the last 2 days have been super windy. I felt at 4:30 AM this morning like we were going to be blown away. We have lots of trees around our home and I was just waiting for some big limbs to come down.

I like your new header photo the best. If we look towards the mountains they are well and truly covered by cloud, but we are on the edge of it and are dry for the present. Supposedly going to be cold and wet early next week.

LOVE the new header - top photo is my fav, but they're all fabulous.

Love the new header! Too bad there's not a shot of screaming child being chased by sickly kangaroo LOL. Our sky looks much like yours in the picture today -- although, not as blue. We finally have some clearing after weeks of rain!

DK said...

New header is gorgeous! Our skies here in the central USA look about the same as yours today. Only our clouds are coming on the heels of an entire week of really bad storms and rain. The worst of the tornadoes and storms hit south of us in Alabama and I can't really imagine what they're going through right now with all the destruction from last night's 1+ mile wide tornado.

Narelle said...

My sky this morning is a crisp clear blue with a wisp of cloud on the horizon and a jet stream above.

I love how the clouds reflect on the dam surface in pic 1 and also like pic 3.

I love the new header! We got more snow today and we are expected to get more tomorrow, we are so over this. It's supposed to be Spring.

Your pictures are great! We have not had rain, either -- having a serious drought in Texas. Our sky is often blanketed by clouds but they don't drop anything. We have to water our house's foundation -- our heavy clay soil, if allowed to dry out, can end up cracking our foundation.

Always love your photos Donna. Couldn't help laughing at your story... but had to do it quietly as it is still very early here and for some strange reason I am wide awake - catching up on everyone's blogging news anyway!

Meant to say the sky here was grey all day yesterday and forecast for same today, with rain patches and thunderstorms later. Hope it is better in London!!!

I love the first one....the reflections are beautiful! But how about a picture of a kangaroo in it's natural environment? We only see them at the zoo here in Canada! My dream is to come to Australia to see the kangaroos and the koala bears in the wild!
Your Bookworm is quite the adventurer eh?!

Stunning photos, top one is definitely my fave. Shame there's no rain in those clouds. Hope when it arrives it isn't a case of too much all at once, as so often is the case!

Gorgeous photos...love the one you've chosen as your header...hope those clouds figure out how to rain for you soon...it is grey and overcast here today with rain predicted, hasn't happened yet though and what was shown on the BOM radar earlier didn't make it to here...

your pics...the clarity...the colour...amazing....what sort of camera do you use?
