so pretty..............

Gorgeous Lecien fabrics.......Floral Collection - Pastel...........such soft and delicate florals.............my girl friend came to visit recently said she couldn't sew this.................I cut and she sewed it together.......
.......her first quilt.............now to decide if she wants it bigger.........opps yes it is going bigger............so she'll be back for another sewing day..............she is very happy with what she has achieved............it's very special to help someone make a quilt..........especially their first one
I knew she could do it...........now she knows too.........

&&&&&
do you get to share your skills.......when you are sharing your skills with someone who hasn't quilted or not very much you realise what you actually know more then you thought.........I love it when my friends share skills with me............it may be that they do different areas of quilting/sewing or that they do things a different way...........
Do you have precious quilting moments...........something you shared or something someone else shared with you???????
Catch you later..............

Yummy colours, makes me want to go out and buy some. It's really great to share skills as quite often you find out a better or easier way to do something, quilters are such generous people.

Not quilting chooky, but recently helped some kids (and one grown-up kid) through their very first toy. It was ablast to see them think that now they could do more on their own!

I've helped a few people now. It's a great feeling - both to assist and to have assistance from others. One if the many lovely things about quilting is the community!

The quilt is lovely Chooky, I agree with what Trish is saying....and I think to be able to help someone out is just the 'best' feeling...looks like you both had an amazing weekend...xx

Chooky the quilt is lovely, and the memories of you and your friend working together on that quilt will be saved in every stitch :o). It really is terrific to be able to share some knowledge with others. That's one of the reasons I love going to my quilting group - I can always find someone to help me out if I'm looking for ways to do certain things - and hopefully I can help them sometimes when they need it too. Quilting friends are great :o)!!!!

Such lovely fabrics!
I'll never forget when I took my sewing machine to our local primary school and made a covered fabric notebook for an arts and craft day...the look on the kids faces when they finished off their notebook was just so rewarding!

Gorgeous quilt!...and your friend will always remember that you helped her with this first quilt..I'm sure it will hold a special place in her heart.

I was teaching at Spotlight, and two girls that came to me were going through a tough time, one had just lost her Husband, another had just moved here and had no friends...8 years later and with that class of ladies we have a little group formed and meet every week..we have gone through so much together in that time..

Beautiful and pretty quilt, Chooky....there are so many varied talents out there and to have the opportunity to share them, and even receive advice and knowledge, is special, and is something I think crafters do well......

I have had a lot of fun of helping non quilters make quilt tops at our charity group. It was thrilling the first time they started to choose their own colour combinations and now they are off and racing, doing most of it on their own. It is so nice to be part of someones quilting journey, thats why I love being in a group, where you can share and also ask for help. Happy quilting Sue SA.

What a pretty quilt your friend is making. I have sent a couple of friends home with charm packs to have a play with, one especially is keen to have a go, so we're going to get together soon. Always fun to share skills with others and learn from them too.

That's going to be a lovely quilt. I love to share with newbies. Just recently I got such a bang out of being ablt to explain fabric grain and bias to two new quilters. Something so basic that I never think about but it made such a difference to them. :-)
