Australia beats New Zealand......

Some of you may remember a bet between me and Farm Girl Stitching...........There was a netball game on between the Aussie Diamonds and the New Zealand Silver Ferns back in July last year..........
....there is fierce rivalry between the 2 countries.........
Nicky mentioned it in the bottom of this post...............I left a lovely comment and a few more emails back and forwards the bet was on.............I think Nicky felt pretty confident on a win when she suggested it..........
So I accepted the challenge..............
Sadly Nicky had to do this post...........and I had happily did this post......hehehehe........
So I told Nicky I was patient...........no rush...........I could wait for a little hand made parcel to arrive.............
Well wait I did and poor Nicky was pretty worried about a parcel and finally it returned to her in NZ..........She had the correct address etc but a few months after she posted it thank goodness it returned to her......if only the parcel could talk...........so she packed it off again and last week it arrived at my place safe and sound.............
I was hoping to get this post up late last week but the weekend was a little busy so here I am.........
Nicky very kindly included a little gift for Fairy Girl - who loves everything in the parcel.........she wore the hair band on the weekend..........
\
But now we're onto my parcel........OMG..........I was spoilt............I love this cross stitch Nicky stitched
I just love it.............perfect stitching........
love the colours too..............and Nicky included a bracelet and a charm pack of the "Tapestry" range
I love everything Nicky and thanks so much for the parcel............
Definitely not betting on the Rugby...............if I did i know I could start stitching now............
Take care till next time
Chookyblue.............

What lovely gifts, Donna - lucky you. The same sort of rivalry exists in my house ; my husband is an Aussie and I was brought up in NZ. I am trying to be nice and not mention who won the Bledisloe Cup...

Well lucky you Chooky. Michelle is a fine example of a "Kiwi girl"...generous to a fault; clever;honest and very talented.
( let this post be a warning to others...the rivalry is fierce. Sometimes Oz wants us to be their closest buddy(( when we have more gold medals for example.)) other times they can't wait to beat us.)
Per head of population doesn't seem to enter into how fair this contest is.
The ladies I have met from our neighbouring country who are quilters are all delightful so I think we should act like sisters.....what do you think? ( oh yes I forgot some sisters do compete against each other...sigh. )

So happy to see that it all got there in the end, it wasn't all bad that it came back, meant I could add the charm pack in! I think there might be another Australia-New Zealand netball series this month........... but I will keep my big mouth closed this time....... lol
If there's a next time it should definitely be on the rugby!! Go the All Blacks!!

Oh isn't a touch of competition good for the soul? Lovely work Nicky and I'm sure it wont take long before Chookyblue will be making something for you - only she's a little chicken when it comes to the rugby - I wonder why, tee hee.
Good on you Chooky, what a great prize.

What a relief for you both when the parcel turned up. It would have been a great shame for such a beautiful item to go missing. You're very spoilt.
