Poor Fairy Girl..............have I psychologically scarred her for life??????...........I pulled out some English paper piecing tonight and she said "you know Mum were not on the road"
All this brings to her is memories of being on the road droving the cattle - which she didn't really like at all...........then she says "do you think you could make me a quilt from it?????"
So I guess maybe not scarred for life but holds a deep life long memory.......
OK back to the EPP.....hopefully I will have show and tell tomorrow..........
Catch you later..............

Tehe - may have been temporarily scarred, but it sounds like she got over it in anticipation of a quilt made for her by Mum. Enjoy your EPP.
LOL, apparently there are certain sewing jobs for certain farm jobs ???
Its a process of association! I had a giggle! I find EPP to be soothing and portable and mine was a car project too....probably why I havent done any for a while....I havent had to sit in the car!
I think you are right - but it cant have been too scary a memory...Lovely colours
Nah....not scarred for life...I reckon she'll look back on them once she gets the quilt!
Just a temporary flashback by the sounds of it but fabricy goodness brought her back quick. Love the lime green. Tracee xx
She will always remember being on the road whenever she looks at the quilt.
Special memories, good and not so good.
Poor little girl, but she'll be okay, sounds like you have a friend for life, so many memories to share. love your fabrics.
Hugs - Lurline.
ooohhhh, love the fabrics!!
LOL.....I think our children definitely have life moments linked to our craft. I choose good memories and that will make a beautiful quilt!
Fairy Girl scarred for life.... I don't think so! Sounds like she chose her moment then made the perfect pitch for a new quilt. How could you say no...:o) Look forward to seeing more of it... lovely.
Bet just temporary and passing for your Fairy Girl! Give her the pink Rotating Cutting Mat from then and she`ll love it!!
Nice quilt to be:-)
ohhh these look good...wonder why they will be??? Fairygirl will thank you for creating such heartfelt memories lol
Funny how we all associated memories with places, things etc. I'm sure fairy girl has lots of wonderful memories. Nice colors. Sharyn:)
Not scarred, but you definitely have built some memories for her! That's good parenting I think. I remember distinctly the 1974 Brisbane floods because my family were so involved with helping out at a local radio station that we all forgot my 10th birthday until two days after the fact. I think my mother was worried I would be scarred for life, but what I remember most is the feeling of helping out and the unity I felt with my family.
Oh. And I have a quilt for you Chookyblue, can you send me an address to send it to please? Thanks!
looks nice and bright Chook
At least she knows what EPP is! Maybe she was thinking of a new quilt....
its funny chooky how little things or smells remind us of certain things, this will be a memory that she will carry all through her life and proberly one she will tell her children,it will remind her of your adventures along the road, have a great day Chooky and hope the kids have settled back into school.xx
it will be lovely for her to have those memories later....

mmmmm....I would'nt say scarred but 'times treasured'! The first time I did paper pieceing I was with my Dad on a road trip in is 40foot motor home driving through the Rocky Mountains in British Columbia. I was having withdrawl symptoms from quilting. We stumbled upon a nice little quilt store that was into this paper piecing. So I picked up the necesary supplies and got started. I loved it! I havent finished that quilt but I will treasure it when I do since my Dad has since passed away. Fond memories.
its obvious there is a fondness in there something by virtue of the fact she asked for a quilt! I love the colours. No wonder she asked for one. Looking forward to pics of more progress.
Hey Chooky I am sure it didn't do too much scarring. She will love the quilt.
Oh yes...you've just got to make that quilt for her. She will treasure it, you will have fond memories of that time spent together while you make it...a win all around!
That's hilarious! No scarred just an everlasting association.
well they say every quilt has a story, so when Fairy Girl is a big grown up mum she can tell her kids about how her mum and her were "on the road" when these blocks were created
What gorgeous colours. Can't wait for show and tell!
Lol! I love the fabrics you are using. Fun!
I think it will be a wonderful quilt full of memories and as she gets older wonderful memories of spending time with her mum, stitching and taking photos and talking.
Ha! Memories!
Testing again
I always paper piece when travelling for work! Love the happy floweres on your!!
