ok so your wondering if I actually achieved anything sewing wise...............
not the clearest photo as I had to crop it down....
I worked on the bottom 2 rows of this quilt......it was slow and fiddly compared to my next project below so I spent some time on it then moved on............
A present from Jenny................I decided to start working on this jelly roll............
sew sew sew............
more sewing..............
then some chopping and piecing........
the inside is together............Gail (thanks Gail) gave me a piece of batik fabric and it goes perfectly with the jelly roll............Here I have a strip pinned up against the quilt..........
thinking I will just cut and attach.........I don't have anything to go in between for a narrow border......
what do you think?
I've never worked with batiks before but I have really enjoyed putting this quilt together..............
Catch you later
Chookyblue
PS Oh and yes I will be having another Chookshed party next year.............no one said "no".........around the same time.............

Love the blues.
Great to see you did actually achieve a fair bit of sewing!!! Good to hear you'll be partying up again next year, not that I really need much of an excuse to sew!
WOW!! you have indeed been busy!! I love both your quilts... pretty colors in both.
Happy stitching
Smiles :)
You were productive. I love the way the batik quilt is coming together. Bring on the party next year.
Wow, Chooky, you were a busy chick. Love those blues and the other quilt too.
Both lovely quilts Chooky....I've never worked with batiks either! Great news about the next Chookshed party!
Of course no one said NO!!!
LOve the blues...does it really need a border??? - would look great just bound...

Love those lozenge blocks... the colours are gorgeous. Love the blues too. Love that you're throwing the Chookshed another party next year. That's an awful lot of LUV for one blog post!
Both tops are lovely Chooky.....yummy present from Jen....and why would anyone say NO....xx
Glad you weren't too busy being hostess. I really like your projects. I think the blue is a great border on it's own......the edge blocks blend into it rather than being cut off by a contrast. Do we have to wait a whole year?
They both look great! Well done!
two lovely quilts...
Hugz
love those batiks :)
Gee you did get a lot done. Love the top one especially
Must have been lots of creative vibes. You achieved a lot. Lovely projects x

Both quilt projects are lovely, Donna. Batiks are just so beautiful...the jelly roll had some gorgeous fabrics in it :-)
Love the batik top, quick, simple and satisfying. :-)
Love both quilts - especially the blues one - I love batiks and sneak them in everywhere! Good to hear party will happen next year!
xx
Love the projects you were working on..gorgeous colour range..
Gorgeous blues! Was the other quilt a retreat quilt?
Wow The chookshed produces great quilts. Must be the atmosphere/ vibe in there. What is the name of the blue batik?
The Batik one is looking great Chooky....You have been busy. I love love love the other one....just in case you get bored with it....Lol
I have never worked with batiks either, but I have several in my stash to play with. I love all your beautiful blues, and your auditioned blue border is super with what you have going on. I wonder what a thin strip of the lightest blue, or perhaps that sagey green would look like before a wider blue frame.
It is always good for me to audition the options......just saying :)
Like them both...great way to use a jelly roll..
