Sizzling......

Woo baby it's hot out there............the next week is hell basically...........42-44 now til next Tues at least well that's all I can see the forecast for...........hooley dooley........it will be worse in other places...........I was really hanging out for Feb to arrive with cooler weather and it's going to be way worse............
my poor garden is fried already.......
once the temps are over 40 things get burnt.........no matter how much water some things just don't like it...........my poor aggies that aren't in shade are struggling........I thought they may just survive but with this week it could be the nail in the coffin so to speak.............
I know they grow like weeds in many places but not here.............
Back in November things were looking good.......they had all grown lots since then........the zucchini on the left of the pic had grown heaps and was producing well until the 43-44's a few weeks ago........
Now they are looking so sad.......some I have lost........others probably after this this week will also be gone......they just can't handle this extreme for so long........a day or 2 over 40 is bad but a week over 42 hell............the crepe mytles are flowering nice but also have some burnt leaves............and this is just one patch of the garden.........
I got some Lucy done on a car trip last week.........added the creams to the main block and got three fillers finished.......
my time is taken up with watering and walking in the morning.......but the mornings are closing in so now I have a little computer time until I can see daylight outside...........no street lights here so I have to wait until it is light......
working full time in town at present too...........
busy busy but all good.......

Catch you later.......
Chookyblue.......

Sorry about your garden, that is very frustrating when you have been doing what you can to keep plants alive up until now. Glad to hear the job is going well.

I cannot imagine that kind of heat for one day let alone sustained for a week or so. We are in the midst of a very mild winter. Wish I could send you some coolness!

I can't imagine that kind of heat for a week either...two days maybe, I feel sad for your plants, that kind of heat makes it impossible for them to survive. Sounds like you are very busy...the Lucy Boston blocks look wonderful.

You certainly are busy. The mornings must be the only time to get things done outside. Here's hoping this spell is the last of the over 40s for the year.

It's a bummer when the weather is so hot. I understand just being out in the morning. Love you blocks, so soft looking.

Ugh! Too hot for woman, beast or plant! Have you tried a ground cover of hay or straw? They tell us here that it will help keep the roots cool and holds in moisture. I've yet to try it maybe this summer!

Love your Lucy blocks, and sad about the garden. Do hope you don't lose it and it revives with some better weather.

So sad to see plants all wilting like that. I guess you might feel much the same lol. Hope there are no bushfires. Our weather is topsy turvey as usual. A couple of hot days followed by a few cooler days. LOve your LB blocks. So pretty.

Such a shame to see the gardens like this .. They are complaining about 35 in the city....they should be out here. I am not sure what will be left after 45 predicted Sunday.
Whatever is predicted I have found our real temp is actually 2-3 degrees higher in the sun.
Keep cool out there.
