Hell.....

How could a day start so nice.................
sunrise was spectacular to the east............
and to the west the full or almost full moon was setting............
EDIT this shows the temp in the Chookshed this morning it was 48........
Its been over 41.9 since 9.30 this morning currently 46.4  ............ with the most terrible wind.............the poor birds in the garden are struggling once again.....yesterday was 45.4 but not windy like today just breezy.........
I have hundreds and hundreds of birds seeking refuge in the garden............
the garden is fried............lawn not too bad but everything else looking burnt.........
This is just some...........i have seen about 50 at once of magpies, 100 grass parrots...........so many birds all hanging out together and only the magpies don't play fair..............
Some of the other birds around Gulahs, Cockatoos, Crested Pigeons, Eastern Rosella, Mallee Ringnecks. Tawny Frog Mouth, Kookaburras, Sacred kingfished, Black faced Cockoo-shrike, Willie Wagtail, Yellow Rumped Thornbill, Noisy Minor, White Winged Choughs, Apostle Birds, Magpie Lark aka Peewee, Magpies, White faced Babbler, Grey Butcher Bird, Crows
Also a couple more I can't identify........

Don't tell me to stay cool as it is difficult in these temps............I keep going out to check my chooks and I have one little spray on for the birds in the garden and one in the chookyard for the chooks and more birds...............
It will cool soon hopefully but we have to make it thru catastrophic fire conditions for a few more hours before it cools down...............lets hope we have no more fires in NSW as crews are working in terrible conditions as it is and thinking of the farmers being burnt out near Leadville as we speak with the fire out of control and currently burn................
We have set a new February maximum temp record...........
Catch you later................
Chookyblue..............

I have been thinking of you when we see the temps on the weather forecast. ..your place is an oasis for the birds. We have rain and cooler day here today I hope it travels over to you very soon.

I hate hot weather and find it hard to cope in our summer heat (cool today plus rain but we had mid to late 30s last week) - can't imagine having to cope with the heat you experience, Chooky. Good luck with everything.

Just got up early to see how the fires are fairing in NSW after that awful day - so hope everyone is OK. Your are so kind to think of the birds and put the sprinkler on, I will remember to do that next time - I do fill up all the bird baths.

What a day it was! Let's hope there are no more like it. Terrible news about the fire near Leadville.
