the main reason we went to the quilt show......................

The main reason we went to the quilt show is that Fairy Girl ha entered her quilt in the show......in the end only for display  - technical info that i don't quite understand but anyway it was there hanging...........

She was very excited about this...........

We also snapped a pic of Susan @ Thimblestitch with her lone star......she got some ribbons there but I didn't take a close up so can't remember what they were.......Congrats Susan..........Its exciting when one of your friends wins.........and we found her on quilt duty and took heaps  of pics............

the other reason was i helped by friends out on their stand..........can't say it was work.............it was so much fun.........thanks Anni and Pete...........

too funny I came home with these goodies but the fat 1/4 I really liked.......i took the pics of what I got at Cherry pie Designs and didn't realise until I was looking at the pics I got the exact same print with a red flower centre..............and it was folded the other way so I must have really liked it..........saw the fussy cutting potential............

Simple Joys Pincushion was a hit and the Grand Adventures pincushion even more..........too many caravaners now days......Simple joys had to come home with me..............

Elm Grove Patchwork...............really was lovely to meet Lenora...........we have been friends online via her blog Elm Grove Patchwork for so long..........

Lighting terrible.........quilts gorgeous.........

While I have a broad range of fabrics I like I am sure my first true love is civil wars prints I just love them..........my shirtings are low so got this little mixed bundle...........and I LOVE Karen K Buckley scizzors they are so sharp.......I don't have this  size...........

Sewn and Quilted was right behind us and it was a bit surreal as I follow Meredith @ Pomegranate and Chintz who posts about some of the sewing classes and always so inspiring...............

i did the Mrs Peach epp workshop with Kathy Doughty from Material Obsessions..........can't wait to get into this more...........

I got the fabrics to go with the pattern that I got last year...........

Its supposed to be a quilt for Fairy Girl................she might get it for her 50th birthday..............lol.......

the quilts were amazing as always to see what people have done..............

the stands I went too all looks beautiful.................

BUT seriously lighting in the building is terrible..............so bad you hardly think it is a brand new building only opened not much more then 12 months ago..........

Does not show the quilts off as best it could..........the stands need so much extra lighting so you can see what they have..............and lets not go to trying to see in a workshop.........

I had a great time............but then i had to return home.......I think it would be best to not go away when it is bad here........

Saturday fun.....

First up was a trip to circular quay.................

Its been ages since Leanne and I got a photo together......we keep forgetting............She is the wizz bang demo girl at Bernina............was so nice to catch up.............She has just moved her website too............Mount Vincent Quilts..........or her blog........She does amazing quilting and had 2 quilts in the show.............

While I was working away a few friends called in...........this time I remembered to grab some quick snaps..............I haven't seen Anita and Sandy for ages..............too short a time girls but at least we got a quick catch up in.......

Another surprise as I was not expecting them but Harriet and Tina newbies at Scrub Stitchin' popped in to say hi too.............and Scrub girls Harriet got a new kit for her second quilt............she's going to have it finished but our next retreat..........so pleased you stopped in too girls...........

While I had lots of catch ups with Sandy and Jenny as they were also there for a few days Suze and Kate made a quick dash on Saturday.........so we all had lunch together...........

After all the work and play of Saturday we went once again to Cyren at Harbourside for drinks.........."happy hour" was just perfect each afternoon................Judith @ Juud's Quilts came and joined us for a drink........

When she comes out next year we have planned a bush holiday afterwards........now I just need to win lotto to go to The Netherlands..

Baileys brulee...........yummo........I ate 3 out of 4 nights here and the service was great..........everyone loved there meals........my table buddies did change a bit each night..........it wasn't planned but the food was good............

Met Juud from juud quilts she was working on the Dutch heritage site...... Not sure how I have not come across her blog as she has so many on her side bar that I follow but we had a great chat....... 

Has been great to meet Lenora and Linda ....... They run a friendship frolic ever year down on the great Ocean road....... They both have shops there  ..... Elmgrove patchwork and gum Valley patchwork....... I've followed them for years ...... Linda was only in on Friday so great to meet her.... ....i didn't know she was going to be up this way ......... 

So much fun catching up With friends...... Some great surprises........

Sadly the only green patches I saw on the way down were a few crop circles that are irrigated......... Mind you you could see many of those just left brown to so maybe no water to irrigate .......

Running away....

I had today off work in town............spent the day working at home instead................bookwork.........then we went out to the other property to feed.............

took this pic from the front gate in the truck..............

It was getting dark so not the best pic but the cows are all dirty......you can tell who had been licking the molafos in the lick drums...........its a mix of stuff but mainly molasses.........sticky....there nice  white faces are all grotty and these ones are some of the cleaner ones............

A new addition the food rations this week is cotton seed...............lucky the cotton farmers had a good season..........

now I am running away for a few days............

i'll be roaming around or maybe you will find me at F20

Pretty sky.....

Feeding sheep and moving some around paddocks late yesterday afternoon..........

The sky was very pretty....... 

I even tried to be a little artist...... The advantage of constantly having a camera on you is you get to snap magical moments.......

Freezing outside today......i'll do some bookwork before we have to muster some sheep for sale.........selling the girls who are not in lamb and selling some older lambs.......

Best go put some more wood on the fire...........

Grocery shelves...........

Filling the feeder for the sheep...........when you get to the paddock you open the shoot at the back and let it run out in a trail..........

Oh and apparently we are in "drought now".........even thought we don't have droughts any more........freaking government........

If you want to make a donation to an organisation that helps farmers go visit "Drought Angels" they were set up in Qld for the farmers up there but given the "dry times" we have in NSW they have done a trip down here........they are on the darkside too..........the links are on the website........

the hay stack is dwindling fast...........need to get more......this came from the border area...........a lovely blog friend still had some.........

Not sure where the next load  will come from......Victoria or South Australia.........they are talking Western Australia even.........OMG the freight is horrendous.........the hay cost is going up too.......

The pile in the middle is cotton seed.........thankfully the cotton farmers had a good season even if no one else did that has created a feed source....at least it is only a few hours away............but it needs to be fed with other fodder types..............
