Yes im still alive my friends...... Trying to sew is impossible..... With continued dust storms the Chookshed is permanently out of action and its just to filthy and a health hazard to be in.... ..this is putting it mildly........ And the usual summer heat on top.......
My fulltime town work job has been insanely busy and involved heaps of travel......
The farm is still in drought...... Yes its been years but still going.....
For my international friends thanks to those who messaged - the fires that have made all the headlines have been well away from us...... But 5 months on they have slowly moved south down the east coast taking peoples lives and many homes, farms, livestock, businesses and bushland destroyed... The country is just so dry they cannot be stopped......
I started a ig account which kind of replaced my Snappy friends blog....... It's just farm life focussed as I was trying to get thru the drought..... You probably won't be interested as it contains no sewing...... @farmer_blue
Hope you are all well.
I've tried to get back to sewing and blogging but now just isn't the time.
Scrub stitching is coming up early April.... We have spare beds if you want to join us let me know......
How you are all busy sewing.
Catch you later.....

Lovely to see you back here, that dust sounds horrific. Working full time plus travel plus feeding animals would not give you much time for sewing!! Looking forward to Scrub Stitching.
Thinking of you often, with the droughts and the fires, wondering if you were safe from at least one bad thing! We are constantly bombarded with dust storms at the moment, they say they are coming from Broken Hill but who knows - the road between our town and Mildura is just adrift with red dirt as far as the eye can see. One day we'll tell our grandkids all about it.....
Oh, wow! So sorry about all you are dealing with there. Hope there is moisture in your future soon!!
I have such a heavy heart when I read your posts Chooky. I know there is nothing we can do to lighten the load...and of course all the media attention is now on the fires....which is understandable...but by golly...you farmers need real help too.
I hope Fairy Girl is doing well. Big hugs.
Thinking of you. Hugs from NZ.
Thanks for the IG link - have been thinking about you so good to see you here. xx
I feel so sad and helpless when I read your post.
Do pray for same rain soon.
Hugs 🤗🤗🤗🤗
Good to hear from you..... bloody dust and drought... just so hard...
Hugz
All of life isn't about sewing. I think we all care about what is happening to you without talking about sewing. That's what friends do. Too many of us can't help you in any way other than telling you we are there in spirit.
So good to hear from you. Hope you get rain and a break soon. Wish I could join you for scrub stitching. Take care my friend.
I've been thinking so often of you over the last few weeks/month and I'm glad to hear that you and your family are safe. Hoping that the rain will reach you too very soon. xx
I've been thinking of you lately. I know the fires are not near you, but when the headlines hit I think about your struggles in the dust and drought. I can only keep my positive thoughts of sending rain and hope your way.
Glad to hear from you. The girls here, and I, have been wondering about how things are for you, and I often check the forecast for you. Also conscious that the fire news has taken the spotlight from the drought areas.
Oh please... just let it RaIN...
It just has to be ONE day CLOSER to RAIN... xox
Lovely to hear from you. I shall keep hoping for rain to come your way soon x
So sad, frustrating, annoying and tough. Take care of yourself as much as you can.
We know your heart is in the chookshed even if mind and body aren't or can't it will happen again... hugs
