Fairy Girls Post.....

Finally we got the rest of the material cut out and laid out on the floor............

Then Fairy Girl started sewing..............huge concentration..............pillow beind her back and the foot control on the little step and SPEED SLOW................she has one and a half rows joined...........hopefully she will get some more down today............

Flooded again - it can rain

Well for those of you that are newish to my blog you may think I live in a wet area..............WRONG just go back to here and here and you can see this time last year things were getting very dry.................but since it has started to rain again we are on our second flood in 2 months - very unusual but they always say "a drought always ends with a flood" gosh I hope they are right............

We are flooded again and thankfully not as bad as the last.......................don't think I will ever see that again in my life time....................in the last flood just before Christmas all this was covered in water...........there is grass everywhere...........the stock are looking good.....what more can a girl ask for............

Today was supposed to be the second day back at school but with more rain last night we stayed home...........didn't need to get bogged..........

This morning the kids played in some shallow drains trying to catch yabbies but this afternoon dh took the boat upstream and they floated down the creek..........they had so much fun..........I was the motor bike taxi so I took the camera along.............enjoy..........

we have some amazing gums in the creek................I love them.........

I know I said I would show a pic of my sewing progress tonight but we got carried away out at the creek and it was a bit late for a photo so maybe tomorrow but I did do some playing........

more rain

Well as we have now had over 4 inchs of rain this week...............the creek is full but not flooding like just before Christmas...........although it has started to come out of the banks.............

so what has this got to do with sewing................well as there will be no school today (and it is only the second day back) due to the rain and wet roads.............we will be home sewing away..........so I will have a post later to show you the progress.........

Fairy girl is already planning to play in the drains again like the last few days.............mud everywhere...............

A bit of this and that.......

We ended up with a bit over 2 inches last night and the frogs were out everywhere.........they must have been born during the flood..............

If you hate frogs don't look now........I don't like them but I had an invasion last night..............I left the kitchen light on and some thought they would come for a visit..........in under the gauze door then done the hall (and I have a long hall) into the kitchen..........just as I was going to bed VERY late I met them at the entry to the kitchen..........YIKES...........there was 12-15 of them.........now I don't mind looking at them outside but it is a wonder I didn't have nightmares..........where my bookworm - he likes frogs.....

Yesterday Peg gave me a little prezzy to say thanks for some help I had given her..........lucky me.......

Dale the bag lady gave this beautiful little bag to Fairy Girl..........thanks so much she loves it......sorry now you have to make another one to catch up...........

And this afternoon I have finally tackled a challenge a friend gave me.............this is all the instructions given...........

I have never made anything so small and fiddly...........

This block is called a Gentlemans Fancy.....(who knows why)

I ended up with 3 different blocks...........one I will give back undone as the centre piece is not correct

Now I think I will attempt the other another day..........so much concentration............hope she is happy.......this is about 8inch finished

I went and sewed with the club girls (you must check out there site) today also included in this group are Dragonfly, Happy in Quilting and Day Days Blog....(OMG check out all the bags she has been making)......

........the girls made me and fairy girl so welcome - thankyou so much we had a great time sewing with you..........

fairy girl started a stitchery and she is sewing so much better now with her backstitch - the stitches join up.........lol.......

so what did I do..........a little more applique (sorry no pic) and this little stitchery..........(by Hatched and Patched)

now everything was going so well until we were driving home and things just got worse and worse...........we ran into a storm and it took me about 25 minutes to go 10kms..........also on dirt road...........yuk............

So can you see anything out the windows???????

NO good cause I couldn't see much either............Fairy Girl took these pics while crawling along - it just poured down.............we measured the rain just a short time ago and we have had 2 inchs /50mls and it is still raining..........

Nine patch making progress...........

slowly getting there........thanks for all the input - I see no 1 is the winner............

the next recipe is out for the Roosting Robin and Bea's 2nd stitchery block is now out so I have lots to do.......

Disappearing...............

I have so much to show and tell but I have disappeared for a few days......my Pop has been unwell so my sewing plans of the last few days have disappeared I spent yesterday afternoon and most of today with him.......(I did take some applique but only got to stitch some yesterday)

I received these in the mail a couple of weeks ago from the fabulous Fat Quarter Shop........(that place is addictive and dangerous)

made up some of these last weekend...........

had fun playing with the charm packs..........

ended up with 9 blocks of nine patch

I finished putting these together tonight.........I was going to do it on Monday but Carey flogged me along on some wip's (thanks goodness she did) and the bugs have been bad of a night.....coming to the light

.........so tonight I am playing but I need some help with decisions - these blocks will have strips around them but do you like 1, 2, 3 or 4
