popping up.............

Lots of different things happening here............no sewing too busy working the normal job and also with dh and the sheep...........do you have any skills in a current job that you just couldn't transfer anywhere else............counting and drafting sheep are 2 skills I have and have no idea where else I would use these skills.........absolutely necessary if you own sheep but where else would I use it.........I can even 3 way draft.............mustering (rounding up the sheep in the paddocks) is a little challenging at present too with all the wonderful grass..........the logs get hidden and I did hit one but managed to stay on the motorbike............

Nundle Girls Day in the Country is just a month away.......the countdown has started for our big meet up......when you live in woop woop like I do it is so wonderful to be able to catch up with lots of other bloggers all travelling from different directions..........this year there will be a few new ones to meet and lots of the regulars too............I can't wait........I am sure there will be what seems like a 1000's emails going back a forwards in that time..............Saturday is full but if anyone is interested there were a few places left for the Sunday............contact Kerry if your interested......this year we have the wonderful Anni Downs from Hatched and Patched and she could do anything and I would love it..........I wonder if I will get any sewing done this year................lol............are you going let me know..............

if you like the photos below head to Snappy Friends where I posted some more pics..........
The winter olympics have started.............i will try and watch as much as possible.............Canada is gorgeous.......the opening ceremony was great.....I will be heading there as soon as I win big in lotto.............lol..........(yes I do have a ticket in the lotto)......trying to catch up on the ironing will be a goal during the olympics...........do bits here and there and hopefully I will see the end of the EXTRA pile.............

template plastic..............I had a friend who couldn't finish a project because she didn't have any template plastic...........i used an old xray that was not needed..............did you know you can put them in a bath with some straight bleach and make sure the whole xray sheet gets bleach on it - the liquid will go black and disgusting and just pull the plug and rinse off the sheets, dry and they become light blue and ideal to use.......it is a little thinner then template plastic but does the job well...........

Take Care Chookyblue.............
PS does anyone have my camera charger..............I just can't find it at the moment..............
edit camera charger found after final desperate search with camera battery flashing red and about to shut down.......thank goodness........

I think your skills could be well transferred. My husband, now a teacher after ten years dairy farming says that kids are a lot like cattle in the way you treat them. They respond to kindness and attention and not so well to yelling and meanness. I not sure how well received his theories are in the staff meetings but he has a great class of kids that seem to love him.

I am sure you will be able to transfer your skills, as for the camera charger sorry not here but if you see the missing left sneaker send it my way. I hope you have fun on you big girl's day out sounds like a blast.

Totally agree with Julie! Having worked in a small primary school for over 10years, you were always counting heads, drafting children to go this way and that!:-)) Being a farmer's wife also, I understand the sheepyard skills, the mustering challenges ... but it's a good life ... I enjoy my farm life :-))
Happy stitching, P

I can run an old PBX switchboard, but I don't think there is much demand for my skill. lol I think your commenters are right, herding sheep translates pretty well to herding kids, though you probably would have to get off your motorbike. 8)

That;s good info on the xrays. I don't get to see many xrays to use these days as everything is on computer or disc where I work.
Have fun on your quilting day.

The only time I want to count sheep would be when I'm in bed and can't sleep!lol! We don't have to count many as we only have 10!
Enjoy Nundle...Anni's such a lovely person...I was lucky enough to meet her a few years back and had her sign my Quilters Journal! Lisa

Thanks for sharing the x-ray tip. I knew you could clean them somehow but when I needed to do it, I couldn't remember what to clean them with. Of course everything I thought of didn't work!

That's funny -- we get a lottery ticket so we can come to Australia!!! Sounds like you've been REALLY busy -- and working hard! Hope you get a chance to slow down and relax a bit soon!

Hmmm...most of my skills would transfer from man to beast! I am so looking forward to Nundle...my mojo is sadly lacking after a turbulent few weeks...I am hoping you will help me to get my groove back! You must have Borrowers at your place too.

Nundle sounds like bloggy heaven. Even those of us living in metropolis hang out for bloggy meet-ups! I just don't know many people in real life who think sewing is a worthwhile pastime, let alone anyone who actually sews. Yeah, my virtual life is waaaaay better than real life! (Have fun at Nundle!)
