bugger bugger bugger...........

Bloglines have just posted to say they are closing down as at 1/10/10.........
.......to say I am annoyed is an understatement...........
anyway i am looking into alternatives......
...there is google reader but looking around to see what else............
also looking at feedly which works with google chrome and safari browers
will get back to you............

I suppose at least they gave us notice...........hhhmmmmmm

EDIT: This only affects you if you use bloglines to follow blogs.
It is a RSS feeds program.
That means if you put a new post on your blog this program searches the net and finds it and I only look here to see whats new on everyone's blogs then open the blog post if I want to comment.
EDIT II: BUT if you do go to google reader it is very quick and easy to export your current subscriptions from bloglines and import them into google reader..........
The ear is improving thanks everyone for your caring comment...........

.........take care til next time.....Chookyblue.......
I have moved to google reader and thankfully all my subscriptions came over perfectly - goodluck

Yes I discovered this today too. Not very fun because I have a lot of blogs I follow via bloglines. So now we just have to find another solution, because I want to check blogs !!!!

Call me thick and definately technically challenged, but I really don't know what you are talking about. Do I need to know? How will it affect me and blogging? Help!!!

I'm swapping mine over as I type. Mine is taking ages.... you follow about 1000000 more blogs than I do. Hope you have some time up your sleeves! ;)

Sorry about your ear Donna!

I use Google Reader, it works better and faster than Bloglines. You can import all your RSS Feed from bloglines into Google Reader.

I'm in the same boat and have decided to move over to Google Reader for now, but will keep looking around too. I am interested to hear about the alternatives.

Google reader is the one for me. Swapped a couple of months ago when I was having so many problems with Bloglines and love it. Simple and easy to use and super fast and it was easy to put in new and old feeds - far simplier even than bloglines.

Sounds Chinese to me, but BUGGER!!

I never could get into it chooky, but I know Jodie will be annoyed. That's what she uses - maybe I'll get into the next one

I use Google reader and I love it! Whenever I check it, any blog with a new post is in bold. I can read all the blog entries and jsut go to the blog if I want to comment. Easy, peasy! :0)

I just found out about bloglines too, but I haven't found an easy way of exporting my feeds.... I'll have to look into it again I think... Very annoying!

I use dashboard on my blog. It lists the recent posts of blogs I follow.

Thank you for posting this as I would have missed it otherwise and lost all my subscriptions.

I felt the same way as you as I could not read blogs without a reader. For the moemnt I have gone over to Google reader and had no trouble following the instructions for exporting the feeds. I guess i will end up using it but like you I might look for other options. I just don't like change all that much.

I was really upset when I read this news, too. Bloglines has enabled me to keep up with many blogs. I guess I'll try Google Reader. There are a few blogs that I check there already.

Me annoyed too!!!
How dare they make us learn something new!!
am changing mine over to Google reader now, don't like it, screen is too busy.

I'm a Google Reader fan and love it. It was easy to transfer all my blogs over and I can still put them into apropriate folders etc.

I use Google Reader after bloglines deleted all my feed and never put them back. Have had no problems with Google reader.

Like others I found Google Reader preferable, and have been very happy.
The only problem I have, and others may have an answer.....is in permanently deleting blogs I no longer wish to follow.
I would love a facility such as my top 20 or so......so I could quickly zip through those....and sew rather than compute!

I use Google Reader and like it very much. Any Blogger-blog I choose to follow lists in Reader automaticly. And I follow a lot of blogs, LOL.

These we my sentiments exactly!!Looks like I'll have to check out Google Reader too:)

I use the dashboard on my blog to keep up with blogs. It automatically sorts the newest posts to the top of the list, and I can just go to the ones I want. I also have them sorted into various DTs etc, which helps a lot :) Hope you get things sorted Chooky.
P.s. GJ SAL now has 100 followers...wooohoooooo!!!
