floods and fires.........

I hope all my friends in Australia are safe and sound.
With terrible floods on the eastern side of Australia and fires on the Western side of Australia there is so much devastation.
I am safe and well with no worries of either where I am.
But my thoughts are with those seriously affected by either disasters.
Mother nature can be cruel.............
I have been stitching and watching the news all day..........

.........take care til next time.....Chookyblue.........

Dreadful for everyone. Haven't heard from Jenny or Karyn for a while, hope they are okay, also Tereasa as she is quite close to Brisbane. Heard from Teresa earlier.

I've been watching it all day too Chooky ... just so sad. We're ok here, high and dry, but others aren't and it's just awful :o(.
Hugs,

I am in Brissie and some areas are already being evacuated. We are blessed that we are elevated, but have some low lying roads. It is stressful travelling to work, only to try and decide when to make the dash home just in case. The devastation in Toowoomba and the Lockyer valley has left us all completely gobsmacked. They keep talking about the 1974 floods, but I don't ever remember them talking about a land tsunami like Toowoomba's happening anywhere else in Australia. Don't know how your favourite store, Thread and Ginger, is coping either.

It's just awful, isn't it. The fires are quite south from where we are, but it's such a nasty thing...deliberately lit, they are saying :(
I rang to order my Stitch-a-long book from Thread and Ginger earlier today, and while it is raining, they are ok for now.

I've been watching news in horror this evening, and have been so close to tears for most that time. I wish all affected a safe journey through this disaster.

So glad you are safe where you are. It is quite unbelievable to watch on the news, and it is so hard to imagine what the devastation must be like.

I have been at work all day when I got home I watch the news how sad to see all that water washing away homes and cars and taking lives. I have got family in Brisband I do hope that they will be fine.

It's just heartbreaking! We're in floods here, but they are no where near as massive or devastating as the South of Queensland. All we can do is pray that the rain will stop soon, that everyone will be found safe, and that there will be no more loss of life.

Glad all is well lwith you did wonder when the water left Queensland for NSW ...its awful isnt it I am getting some things together for a lady who is having a baby girl very shortly they lost everything in the floods including her other 2 children I cant begin to imagine how she is coping at this time just hoping that a show of love from strangers helps her in some way
