the quilts at the quilt show.........

I went thru the quilts on Thursday with Fairy girl...........thankfully i got to spend some time looking thru them again on Friday with Patricia and we discovered looking thru them we have very similar taste in what we liked............Fairy Girl liked all the bright ones...........

Civil War Stars - Chris Timms

Googly Eyes - Catherine Butterworth
loved this..........oh the fussy cutting..............but so worth it.............

close up on a block

loved the effect of the border..........

this was one of my favourites...........

up close........

a roebuck quilt..........

Jarrah's Quilt - Isobel Lancashire

Judy - Trudy Johns

it was machine and hand quilted.............just simple.............lovely.............

Hexagon Stars for Ulladulla - Catherine Butterworth

King David's Crown - Marjory Yip

loved the quilting............

Mad Birds and Hexagons (out in the noonday sun) - Kate
funny story as I had only found Kate's blog just before I went to Sydney and she mentioned she had a quilt in the show............goodness how was I going to find it.............then I was chatting at the Material Obsession stand and a lady came up talking to Kathy and I worked out it was Kate...........such a small world..........then she told me what number her quilt was so I got to find it easy...........

by Susan Allsop
I looked at this quilt and thought wow I know that quilt...............that's because is it Kerry's pattern and was made at a retreat in Nundle at Cottage on the Hill last year using the same fabrics Kerry used............

Fairy girl loved this quilt...........
Mrs Busy Turns 50 - Robyn Shipton

this is how she created the raggy look around the edges.............

Lots of Dots - a circle sampler - Chris Jurd

Aloha - Hunters Hill Quilters

Peters Charm - Karen Robertson

I also saw some more quilts posted at Sylvia's and Di's blogs.............enjoy............
Congrats to all the committee who put the display together and also to all the quilters who entered quilts..............it is a big job and I couldn't imagine going to the quilt show and not looking at all the amazing quilts on display.............and if I was pushed for time I would do the quilts before the shops..............
so THANKYOU (not that your probably even reading this)
also it was wonderful to see quite a few Dear Jane quilts finished.............
Catch you later..............

Beautiful quilts, I'm looking forward to seeing the quilts at our show now. I always look at the quilts first, then shop, then go back and look again.

Thanks for posting the photos Chooky - the quilts look wonderful. I was surprised by how many Dear Janes were there - must be the time everyone is finishing them off.
