mini quilts at the quilt show.......

To say I was gobsmacked with the mini quilts is an understatement.............
this quilt is about the size of an A4 sheet of paper (approx 21x 29cm)
Baby Rose of Sharon - Elizabeth Camping
Elizabeth wanted to see how small she could manage needlturn applique..............
OMG is all can say...............gorgeous............
Just for Fun - Jane Gibson
this is about the size of a post card............
&&&
now the quilt below I was blown away in the detail esp in the quilting........
not a big quilt............but too big for the mini quilt section
look at the quilting detail................the size of it and it was done on a domestic machine.....
.....and that's not a huge finger in there.............wow............
2 awards..............

more detail...........
puts a whole new slant on machine quilting and mini quilts.........
2 weeks of school and work holidays.............yippee...........no bus runs, uniforms etc
nothing much planned which is perfect.............
Catch you later..............

Oh my word - I like doing fiddly things but I know that if I were to do one of those it would quickly become a UFO.

I was blown away with the level of skill on display amongst the quilts both large and small......I could have spent a full day alone just examining the various skills......

I have had the great pleasure of seeing Mariya's work in progress, I used to look after her when I worked at the shop. She is the most incredible artist I have ever come across. I can't wait to get to the Melbourne show to see the displays. I am doing a fly in fly out at the end of July.

I thought they were beautiful too. The amount of work in some of them was unbelievable. They didn't tempt me to try them - I don't think I'd have the patience!
