ReplyDeleteFoundation piecing can be a bit time intensive, but the results are wonderful. I like to use it for particularly tricky blocks - and circles certainly fit that category!
ReplyDeleteOoh, I like your paper-piecing project, although it does look rather tricky!!
ReplyDeleteI really admiring your tackling foundation piecing and a mariners compass at that!
ReplyDeleteImpressive! I admire your patience!!
ReplyDeleteWow! I'm not sure I could do that.
ReplyDeleteIt's really coming along well. I like the look of the dark background.

Such pretty flowers Chooky and what fabulous paper piecing! Your homework looks wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI am also impressed as I have never attempted paper piecing! Looks great, love the back ground fabric-what is it? Have a great day, Michelle.
ReplyDeleteI'm loving it...Mariner's Compass is right up there at the top of my list of favourites...you are making me want to do one...I have only ever made one Mariner's Compass block 4 1/2' square traditionally hand pieced to go in the centre of a miniature for a challenge project, I've never tried it the foundation piecing way...another one to add to the list of wants...
ReplyDeleteYour compass is coming along beautifully!! Lovely flower photo, it's great seeing all the spring flowers coming into bloom!
ReplyDeleteVery interested in your mariner's compass, great idea of paper piecing. will have to try sometime. Love the flowers, mine have died long ago in the drought times.
ReplyDeleteMy head hurts just looking at that! I'd have NO idea how to do it!
ReplyDeletePurtry! Lovely block! Ya know, Ricky Tims Stable Stuff would work great for that and you do not remove the foundation. Paper piecing drives me nuts! Remove the paper creates a mess, and I do not like to clean up messes. So the foundation stuff works great for me! ;)
