wet start....

So those girls who were on early in zoom on new years day may remember me mentioning I had a couple of light showers. Really it was only 1.5mm all up but it was cloudy all day.........
Yesterday was building up in the afternoon. I really thought I was going to cop some storms all afternoon...nothing happened......but I went to bed and woke up late to a storm.........
53mm of rain it was pretty heavy.......what a great start to 2021..........
I have another family of Willy Wagtails that will be leaving the nest in the next few days.........
The last of the storm clouds that passed over.........but the sun is shining today........
Yesterday I got the lawns mown........so pleased i did but I think I will need to mow them again tomorrow with the storm rain it grows so fast..........what a great problem.........
Today I was supposed to catch up with some friends but I will stay put now......the creek is up too......
Sewing, bookwork and I will need to spray some edges the weeds are like triffids.......
Stay safe........
Catch you later........
Chookyblue.......

A lovely zoom time that I was able to join. I`ve been unwell the last few days but hope to pick up soon, other wise a ring to the nurse and my back pocket meds started. Enjoy the rain you have been getting. We have had that too. Plus happy stitching.

Glad you are getting rain. Lovely to see a nest of wagtails. We had a pair nest on my clothesline in 2019 & i was hoping that they'd nest nearby last year so i could watch them again. They did come back but i didn't see where they nested. Just saw them flitting about my yard. Hugs,xx

That was some storm! We only had 0.5mm yesterday, but could see it wet to the east and very dark over behind Orange. We had another 0.5mm in the early hours of this morning. It is very grey, so hopefully more today. I hope the little Willy wagtails coped ok with the storm.

We got a storm warning yesterday along the border, but it went up to riverland and warning was cancelled, must be because you got it all! When you get the spraying happening, I have a few edges and paths that need doing here too!? Looks like its time those birds left the nest, otherwise they will fall over the edge, and very exposed nest too.

Great amount of rain for you. We had a bit too but it didn’t last long.

Great shot of the baby birds.
I love the view of the sun coming from behind the clouds.

Good about the rain - always a downside - mozzies & rain.

Beautiful pictures.

Still here. Like you, we've had a nice drop of rain over the last week or so. Here's to 2021!

That is great rain to get. Those willy wag tails look almost too big for the nest!

Well, that is a nice problem, having to mowe the lawn, because it rained. Good to hear.

Wow! I don't think we've ever had that much rain at once. Hope it is a good omen for a healthy rainfall in 2021. I had to look up the word "triffids" and I'm glad I did as it made me laugh! Hope you get your weeds under control so you can quilt! Also hope I get to Zoom in one day. Seems like I am always missing it but happy to hear so many tuned in.

Wonderful that you had some rain ... yes mowing the lawn is a good problem to have given the drought you have been experiencing. Love the smell of cut crass ... and hay!
