iso.......

I'm hanging out in the Chookshed as I was in a course with a colleague all week and he's tested positive to Covid so as I've been away all week I'll stay away from the family for a day or two just to be sure.......I was pretty busted from being away so have not achieved much...... Attached a binding to Fairy Girls quilt she made....... Massive effort as it's big and heavy....... Flannel quilt, wool/ cotton batting and minky backing.......I cut the binding 2 3/4 instead of 2 1/2..... It's also flannel so it's taking some effort stitching down......Getting the needle thru my fingers know all about it........ Even with a thimble.......
To aid my world knowledge I've finally brought the laminated maps I've thought about for some time........
for you my friends....... The most devine heavenly fragrance from a random rose...... Gorgeous long stem so it's in a wine bottle out here with me..... Later I found some people perennial statice......Better get some pruning done on the roses.......... I did give them a bit of a feed....... But that can wait......
Updated
It's now Sunday arvo late...... If I don't turn + I'll be amazed because I'll not feeling well so something's brewing.......I got the binding finished but pretty much took me all weekend........ It's a very big quilt but I just plodded along....... More rain so the creek's up........
And while out I found this capeweed with a bee and a caterpillar once I looked harder...... Love seeing the bees wings......... They are so fine.......
Ok best go do nothing again.......
Catch you later.....
Chookyblue......

Fingers crossed you don’t succumb, and if you do I hope it’s brief and easy to get over. There are so many bugs going around right now, it’s so tempting to just be a house cat and stay in all the time!
Hugs, Tazzie xox

Love the flower pics....honestly, there is just so much around that we're lucky if we don't get it. Fingers crossed for you!

I love the idea of putting minky on the back of a quilt - i might file that for future use.. Hope you stay well - bloody covid has alot to answer for... I have a laminated wall map of Australia - I mark places with permanent markers (of different colours) for roads we have travelled or want to travel..it's great because it comes off with methylated spirits if I want to alter it.. have fun with your maps..

If you do succumb to covid, I hope you have a mild case like my husband and I did. He kept on cutting up wood and I was painting 2 small bedrooms. Happy stitching!

Oh sorry to hear you are a bit down. It was great messaging today. Thanks for your input. I’ve got something to go on and play with now…..

Oh, so sorry you got exposed to covid, I do hope you can shake it off. My husband had it, but it was nothing more than a mild cold with a low fever for two days or so. He's been vaccinated. Take it easy.

Good luck! Let's hope it's a mild case. Fingers crossed for you.

I hope it isn't the dreaded covid. So many other bugs spreading quickly. I hope you soon feel better.
Take care.

Hopefully you will not be positive…. And it’s only a cold EVERTHING crossed x

Hope it's not the virus, maybe just a cold? All our immunities are decreased after being isolated for so long. Take care.

Oh dear, if you do turn positive I hope it's a mild case and you recover soon. Good on you for doing your girls binding for her, at least if you do become poorly, you will a lovely finished quilt to keep you warm.

Oh, sorry to hear about the exposure. If it is COVID, do let yourself rest. Hubby spent a few days in bed and got better quicker than I did, because I kept going (of course).
Love your nature photos--I wish I could smell that rose. I love the old ones that really smell good. They have bred the scent out of so many of them now to get colors, and hardiness.
Are you going to mark your maps with the locations of the Chookshed Stitchers? :)

Well reading the last 2 posts I see you have the dreaded covid, I hope it is a mild dose and not a big one Chooky. The rose is beautiful, bees wings are amazing along with dragon fly wings, they are so shimmery and beautiful. Hope the binding is going ok.

Beautiful photos and all that binding is pretty tough! Hope you will stick a pin on your map for me! xx

Bugger, Bugger, Bugger!!! Have the best birthday you can. Fairy girl did well with the cake. You can have a virtual retreat……..at least you are retreating from work.

Your girl did an amazing job of your cake. As Janice says, have a virtual retreat when you feel up to it and sew up a storm. Happy Birthday Chooky. Get well soon.

No comments on your new post, so I will comment here again.
SO SORRY you ended up with the dreaded virus. That is so maddening, all the plans that it foiled!
Fairy Girl really did herself proud with that cake. Too bad she couldn't wave a fairy wand and make the COVID go away. Seems pointless to wish you a happy birthday, under the circumstances. But I will say that I hope when you are able, you will really party to make up for this downer!
