Memories from July 2013...........
Just 9 years ago I started this quilt...........this was the fabric pull made at my Cottage on the Hill Retreat....post here and here.......It was going to be 4 stars but I have a tall son even then so I decided to make it longer by making 6 stars.............it was going to go on a king single bed but drought delayed that and then we were given a queen bed...........
the quilt got forgotten about and suddenly in 2016 according to this post I got the top together......
and I thought afterwards that maybe I should have added another row of stars so it would fit the bigger bed..............oh too late I would have had to unpick all the squares surrounding the blocks and I was happy with what I had that was that...............into the pile of finished tops it went to wait...........
But as you know a few months ago I started the crazy binding faze and sent off some more tops for quilting.......these are now all completed..........plus the one I did for Fairy Girl last week so that's 16 quilts finished this year.........besides this one I need to show you 6 more.......I need to get some photos done...........I just used Mr Chooky today on the Chookshed deck as it was easy and this quilt wasn't to big to hold up............
you can see some of the quilting here..............
My absolutely favourite colour combination........in the perfect tones too.............
these blocks are 24inchs
And here it is.........all grown up and ready to keep someone warm............
I finished it today in my short zoom session.......a couple popped in....
it was nice to talk to someone but OMG I was busted after that.......
do something then go lay down again.........

Very sad to have spent so much time in the Chookshed and basically sewn nothing..........
Just laid there and looked at fabric, quilts, books etc
have a great week......
Catch you later........

Gorgeous quilt. Love the fabrics. It was lovely to see you today & have a chat.
Lovely quilt, glad you are well enough to return to the house, but sad you were not well enough to sew while you had all that time in the Chookshed.
Ooops! I had no idea you were ill! So sorry for belated response. I hope you have recovered well. Any idea how you got it? Love the quilt. Another gorgous finish.

Good to read you’re back in the house and keep getting better.
You do make pretty quilts! I'm glad you're on the mend but it sounds like you still need to pace yourself. Take it slow.

Beautiful quilt Chooky. Glad you are feeling better. Take it easy though, this one takes a while to fully recover from.
WOW........., love that star & maybe I have the book. I'll do a bit of searching today. I've not seen Kerry for years & it brought many memories flooding back about life & travel, pre-covid. I do enjoy your hero shots & glad you're getting some UFOs finished. Please take care of yourself & hugs.
Well done on the finish, you are on a roll this year. Take time to get better properly.

Oh, my! Isn't this nice with those big, wonderful star blocks! Great colors in this scrappy beauty!
Who gets it now, since the intended bed has changed?
So glad to hear your family will let you back in the house. ;)
Sorry I couldn't get in on the Zoom session--the day was booked solid.
Take your time getting back to your activities. My energy was nil for several weeks.
How good to have it finished at last. I’m glad you are now feeling somewhat better. I hope the fatigue doesn’t last too long.
The quilt is great. Love the squares as border.
