WTF Comments!!!!!!

I realised this morning after I can now see comments on my last post yesterday that comments are not being emailed thru....not in spam not waiting to be approved just nothing.............maybe it's been happening for awhile......even turning on comment moderation won't fix it this time......I just checked my email box and it appears nothing has been emailed thur since 20/3/2021. I see some from the 1st March then nothing.......

Anyone else having issues?????

Zoom and Scrub Stitchin' Retreat prep.....

Sorry i've been a bit quiet.........lots going on.........
I have got some quilts back from quilting........finished a quilt completely - don't die of shock.......
Lots of pics need to be taken.......sorted and posts written.........
I have been trying to find time to do another zoom but things have been busy............
SO today I rashly emailed out to everyone an hour or so before I could pop in for a couple of hours............thanks to those who popped in
Clare NZ, Janet & Gail USA, Chris Canada, Sylvia Germany and Diane, Annette, Jenny, Jeanette, Susan, Maureen and myself from Oz......I hope I have not missed anyone.....links all on the sidebar....
Being so rushed I just grabbed the sewing bag and found some Lucy blocks so that is what I worked on........Finished above and started on below..........
the next chance to zoom won't be until the end of the month........maybe the Sunday.......I couldn't wait that long to catch up hence the quick catch up today.........
SCRUB STITCHIN'
retreat plans are well underway for another wonderful few days of sewing........
Early April we will stitch up a storm again......
got a few newbies to add to the mix so should be a wonderul time once again..........
I'm so desperate for a sewing weekend with friends........come and join us........
Pic from 2019 as our last retreat as 2020 was cancelled due to covid.............

Currently we have a mice plague.........another great equaliser like covid everyone has them in the district..........some more then others..........
some of the damage the mice are doing to the bales..........its a battle I hope to win but I am not sure.....it's taking it's toll mentally, physically and financially....some farms have lost stacks of hay.......
dust storms would be better to deal with then mice..........
BUT I do love the light in this photo that I snapped early one morning..........
Stay safe..........

bonus.....

I brought these fabrics from Jude @ News from Jude when she was having a sale and raising money for cancer.........
Just so so pretty........
funny how I found a few more to add from my stash.....had no idea i had them........
So then when Jude had a competition to guess how many stitches/inch in a quilt she had quilted I guessed right..........goodness knows how but I won some fabric.... see Judes posts here and the gorgeous quilt............
So I choose the gorgeous fabrics above to add to the others for border/sashing.........I brought some and had a voucher to pay for the rest............very exciting when it arrived.....

Now onto some farm stuff.......We've a had a few mice inside for months......Just kept getting a few in the traps each night since Sept/Oct........but over summer with it being so mild and we had rain at times the mouse population has exploded........thankfully inside it's not too bad they have been quiet but outside OMG......sheds, haystacks, vehicles, farm machinery nothing is off limits.....so I am poisoning, trapping in cages and mice traps.......it goes on and on and I won't show you the buckets of mice I pick up some days but take it from me it's just disgusting.....daily it's minimum 50 mice and up to 4-500.....
I shared this pic because has anyone ever seen a different coloured mouse????
Is this caramel mouse the albino version........
i've n ever seen one like it.....Any there is no relief at work and we are currently over run with them.....some days the office reeks of dead mice and we just can't find them.......Just hoping for an early winter and a sharp cold break may knock them back..........
It's wearing thin. The cost, smell and the time it takes to deal with the mice......
The damage they are causing also.....
On one of the zoom sewing days Carole @ Quilting Adventures was talking about these needles and Jude got some from her supplier for me too.....I'll let you know what I think for EPP.............
Ok must get to bed.......

brighten up.....

A quick weekend away recently..........I was hunting for a particular thread..........no luck with the thread but I did find these lovely fabrics............I've been thinking of a couple of photos in this post by @Me and My Quilts and I just can't get them out of my head..........I've wanted to make a bright quilt for a long time but those pics of her shelves just won't leave me so I have started my collection........
no idea what I will make yet BUT i have started the collection........
I had a quick trip away finding accommodation for Fairy Girl..........
While I hate the actual beach.....sand yuk....I do love the view..........
I prefer the bush better but it is nice to see.....
OK best go.......got a few quilts back from quilting but need to take some pics.....I started this post days ago and only getting to hit post now........
Life happens........
Hoping to get some bindings attached........one or two already prepared ages ago.........I need to get two quilts out the door ASAP.........

French General quilt......

Finally getting to the post......
I showed this quilt to the zoom girls last week.......
So remember this bundle.............
then I added to it.......only needed a couple but got too many extras....
Starting to sew the blocks together......
Love the big blocks..........shows off the big prints.........
It was such fun to work on a big block quilt and have quick results..........
As my leader and ender i pieced some of the quilt on the design wall.........
Ta da........what do you think.......I'm pretty happy with this one.....great pattern for big prints.....
Just made it up as I went........using Aussie fat 1/4's I was able to cut 20" blocks......
This is the first quilt top I have made in ages......like super ages I think......
Anyone got an idea what to call it???
I haven't thought of one yet...........
Just a nice photo I snapped on the weekend I thought I would share.....
Stay safe......

Zoom Australia Day....

A little slow on the blogging front...... But I had another wonderful day zoom sewing....... Australia Day up bright and early to link up with the Canadians and Americans on the other side of the world catching them in their afternoon....... New Zealanders are often early too being a few hours ahead of me..... Sylvia in Germany is just in all sorts of hours...... Often going to bed and popping back up again to rejoin us.......
Last zoom a few of us were discussing our zoom sewing project....... Some have been working on the same project each time. I have mostly worked on blue lanterns except for the last zoom. At that time I did decide I would try and make this epp project my zoom project.....It's mostly what I have sewn on zoom days......so that's where I started adding to the three pieces below..........
I added another 8 blocks to this section........ sorry no photo of that........but.....
This is what the quilt was up to prior to starting the sewing day......
This is what it looked like after...... I added that section I was working on in the morning to the bottom left side.....I also had another section together from previous sewing days and added it to the top right........ I can see heaps of progress on this quilt due to zoom sewing days.......well they are marathon sewing sessions usually for me........this time I sewed for 12 hrs......thanks for the encouragement girls.......
The only problem with the day is my power failed for a few hours...... But the girls hung in there and I finally got back on.......too dam hot a day for no power but nothing I could do about it......
Anyway it was another wonderful day connecting with my blog buddies.......
Til next time.....Stay safe........
Catch you later..........
