seriously.......

seriously sometimes you wonder why........ In the first few hours I ran out of bobbin 1/4 of the way down a long seam..... Sewed the border on the wrong side - in reverse stitching that I started reversing the wrong seam also..... Ran out of bobbin again.......Put a nick in the quilt cutting a thread....... OMG there way more...... The sewing gods were not on my side.....
Finally I got the white border and outer border on this quilt .... The centre is Fairy Girls project from a few years ago at Scrub Stitchin'............. Thanks to the chat on zoom that got me to finding the range and Susan @ Susan's Sewing Space for finding the border fabric........
Found a great backing at Quilt Craft.......
Onto the churn dash blocks then......
They were partly in progress.....
I'm a slow sewer but here's progress last night
Delicious lunch out....... Gorgeous gift shop....... Isn't this Christmas tree so pretty......
Seems I'm not the only one who buys alcohol by name or picture...... No I didn't have to search for the chooks they were the first bottle I saw in the fridge..... No idea what it is but I had to have it...... Maybe rosee.......
My friend Miss Jules' project......a crazy quilt she started at Scrub Stitchin' this year.......
A little prezzy from Sandi @ My Forevermoore......
Churn dash show and tell..... More on that later........
Coffees hot so I best get moving and go sewing.......
Catch you later......
Chookyblue......
PS going to bed Qld time and waking my NSW time is not good.......

OMG, glad I'm not the only one that has days like that. Ooh the churn dash quilts look just a little larger than mine which I've just posted now finished. Just a thought........maybe the wine will help you sleep through the time difference a little longer. Hope you've had a lovely time even with the sewing mishaps. Take care & hugs.

Just look at all those churn dashes together. You really started something for all of us on that one.

Sorry you had a rough sewing day with one thing after another. Those are the days maybe we should take a break. Your quilt turned out GORGEOUS in spite of the struggles!

It looks like you overcame all the problems thrown your way. Frustrating to say the least.

Oh dear! It looks like you got everything sorted in the end. A nice fresh quilt. The backing is ideal. I thought checking out the pretty labels was the only way to choose wine. LOL. So good you finally got to hang out with the girls. How was the road getting home, after the extra rain?

yes sometimes you just have to give in to the quilting gods when they aren't on your side, but your quilt looks great, love the colours!

Damn about the hassles but yaay you got there in the end. I thought that was the only way to choose wine - by the picture on the label! Good you got the borders on Fairy Girl's quilt and great work with the churndashes.

Sometimes the sewing gods are away when we are ready to sew x Deep breaths are OK in theory… stiff drink and walk away works just as well x Our shops are filling with Christmas goodies x So bright and cheerful x

The tree is amazing. Hopefully you got ll your problems out of the way in one hit and then sewed without problems. Wonderful churn dash quilts. I choose wine by the label too.
