no more hay............

The hay is all gone........we baled it back here in 2008 when Jodie came to visit we were carting it in.........we are currently trying to source some more............unfortunately it isn't as cheap as I thought it was so trying to work out how much we can get for my budget is causing stress............maybe it will keep us going for a 2-3 months depends how the cows go on it..........how much and how often we have to feed them............
and another local dusting of the house..............yippee............
Catch you later

Oh I hope your hot dry weather comes to an end soon. We have plenty snow here...wish I could send you some along with some cool temps.
Only good thing about all our cold weather is to stay in the house and sew.....unfortunately we have to go out in the cold every day to go to work. I am waiting for spring. Please keep us posted on your weather.

I've given up looking at weather forecasts. They have nothing nice to say anyway. The heat we can handle, it is just this incessant dry that is just so far reaching. Not a lot of hay in these parts either.

The drought is hard on the regular population but for farmers it's a matter of survival. How can farmers feed, water, market(it can be fruit, veggies, meat, milk, eggs etc.)pay their bills and still be in business next year?! You may last two or three years. But no one does this for free....especially when farming is so labor intensive. We are praying for rain, in California, but it doesn't look good for the farms here. Here is praying your winter comes early and with much gentle rain. Blessings. Patty McDonald
